CA Tumi reached that ever elusive state cup final by defeating PDB Irish Rovers 5-4 on PK’s.
The first half ended 0-0 after Tumi missed 2 goal opportunities with their highest goal scorer Geraldo Ceja.
Rovers did score first at the 50th minute with #2 Matt Burke smart shot to an empty goal after Tumi goalie mishandled a cross.
Tumi then attacked recklessly trying to level the score and at the 78th minute had the misfortune or losing Cesar Ceja their highest scorer to a red card.
Even though Tumi now was down to 10 men they continued to attack and Rovers defended well and relied on a counter attack for their opportunities.
At the 78th minute #17 Frank Lara tied the game on a free kick on the right of the 18 yard line which curled in on the left corner of the net.
Scored remained 1-1 after regulation and 3 minutes of regulation time added.
A total of 6 PK’s were taken by both teams, Rovers missed the third and six, while Tumi missed only their 5th kick.
After the game CA Tumi was presented with the regular championship trophy cup by the EDSL President Peter Pinori, past president Albino Guimaraes and Port Chester Chairman Cesar Aliaga. CONGRATULATION CA TUMI!!!!

CA Tumi still has an EDSL Playoff semifinal game to play vs San Onofre to decide who will be playing the $1,000 final vs Unity on 6/2/19.
