News and Announcements
Women’s Field hockey assessments are coming up soon. I have only heard back from a small amount of you and would like to know if you are planning to return to the team, are hopeful to play higher division, or will not be returning this season. This will help me know how many players I need to select in the coming weeks. Please connect in with me before Friday this week.
Everyone assessing for a team Div 4 and higher, must register to attend assessments by Friday, June 16th. Please let me know if you are injured, or unable to attend assessments. If you have already signed up, thank you. You may ignore this email. If you would like to play in Division 5 then you do not have to assess. You will be notified when registration opens in July.

Unfortunately I need to cancel the last practice tomorrow in anticipation of 5-10cm more snow tonight and more possibly tomorrow. Apologies, I was looking forward to a last run around.
I have had an amazing season as your coach this year, and would like to thank my coaching partners Lisa and Elaine for their fabulous support and knowledge, and your families for their ongoing support. I look forward to seeing many of you move on to higher levels of competition next season, and welcoming back those who enjoy playing at this level. I would also like to thank our wonderful goalie Sawyer, who even with a busy schedule, rarely misses a practice or a game, and anchors our team. Thank you Sawyer for your commitment this season. We appreciate it.
Spring League is just around the corner, and I look forward to seeing some of your faces there. For those not in the U18 age range, we should be starting our open drop in sessions on Monday evenings very soon. Stay tuned!
Assessments for the 2017/2018 season will start in June 2017. Stay tuned for news to come on that front.
Take good care everyone,
As you know, our season is now concluded, but we have been provided with field time for the next 2 weeks as a bonus. I have opted to use it, rather than give time back to the city, and will run a practice from 8-9pm over the next 2 weeks.
We can use this time as an additional practice before spring, and for those not in spring league, you can use this as an extra run/ practice. I have opened this up also to players from Div 4 Wild and Div 5 Fusion. For at will likely be some skill development and technical, and asmall games or a scrimmage depending on numbers.
See you Monday!
What a fabulous game yesterday. I was really impressed by the amazing teamwork and your determination. You believed that you could win from the beginning, even shorthanded, and you did! Phenomenal effort ladies.
We have a practice tomorrow (Monday). Please arrive at 7:45pm. Practice will run from 8pm to 9:00pm-ish.
For those at the game yesterday, please bring what we discussed, but also bring something to practice in.
WE HAVE A GAME THIS WEEKEND at Crofton House School. I hope that you have been keeping an eye on the updates posted by both myself and the club, and through the VWFHA website. It is a bit of a fast and furious restart, but as you know it has been a most unusual few months for weather.
Sat, Feb. 18 @ 2:30PM
CROFTON HOUSE SCHOOL, Kerrisdale, Vancouver.
Tri-City Eagles Power vs Vancouver Hawks 6
WATER BASED TURF-Trail runners and turf boots only
Crofton House School: 3200 41st Ave, Vancouver, BC. Map attached. You can also Google search the address below for directions from Coquitlam. I have room for 2-3. Please contact me at 604-619-6465 if you need a ride. Players will need to get a ride to my house and we can leave from there. Try to carpool with others players on Saturday, where possible as it is a longer commute.
I am coaching at Tamanawis tomorrow evening, so will not be home until late. Please contact me by text if you are unable to make the game or you need a ride.
Cheers and see you Saturday,
