Team Chicago Announces New Director of Goal Keeping

Cristiano Costa comes to Team Chicago after serving as the Goalkeeping Coach for the Crystal Lake Soccer Federation. Coach Costa enters his third season as the Head Women’s Soccer Coach (NCAA DI & WAC Conference) at Chicago State University.

Coach Costa has over 25 years of soccer experience. He is a very driven and hardworking individual, who has an extreme passion for all things soccer. In 1991, he started his soccer career in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, playing for the professional team Clube de Regatas Vasco de Gama. He spent 9 years with his team training and playing as a goalie, before transitioning to ABC and Botafogo PB where he played 2 more years professionally. In 2006, Cristiano moved to the United States, where he played for 2 years at Oklahoma Baptist University before transferring to play at Judson University. In 2009 he played for FC Hansa Luneburg in Germany, and in 2010 and 2011 he played for the PDL soccer league Thunder Bay Chill in Canada.

Coach Costa currently holds a USSF C Coaching License while also holding his EXOS Formerly Athletes’ Performance – Phase 1 License, Football Theory (Foundation Course 1), Football Braining (Module 1), and GK Position Specific Coaching Clinic.
