Dewey Hom called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm

Secretary Minutes: Read and discussed, Voted on unanimously to accept.

Treasurers Report: Beginning balance $17,808.34. Ending balance $8,403.79

Meeting started with Dewey Hom reading a passage from Lowell Lawson philosophy on creating the Cherokee Senior Softball Association from 20 years ago.

Topics discussed:Softballs: Pete Fowler presented cost on different styles of softball that needed to be purchased for the upcoming season. Only yellow softball are being manufactured. The association still has white softballs remaining from the previous season. They will be phased out this upcoming season.Pete Fowler recommended purchasing the 44/375 SBA approved (yellow) at $40.00 a dozen.A motion was made to purchase 8 cases of the 44/375 SBA approved softballs. It was discussed and passed unanimously.

Inventory: 80 softball caps, miscellaneous uniforms, and scorebooks.Schedule for the Spring Season: It was voted on to started the season the week of March 23rd, 2015

Tryouts: February 7th (Saturday) and February 8th (Sunday) at 2:00 pm at Hobgood Park.February 14th (Saturday) and February 15th (Sunday) at 2:00 pm at Hobgood Park.

Evaluations will be given to League Directors as soon as possible.Draft will take place as soon as possible. Every attempt will be made to have draft completed by end of February so players can be notified and practices can be scheduled.

Sponsors: Warren Butler has commitment on a new sponsor. It is the mission of the CSSA to create a waiting list of possible future sponsors. Ray DeLuca will facilitate this endeavor.

Banquet critique: This years banquet was very successful. Approximately 126 people attended. 21 who paid but did not attend. Next years banquet will be celebrating our 20 years of existence. Tentative date will be 14, November 2015. Also, will look into having beer and/or wine available.Items for next meeting:

Ken Taylor will report on the cost of liability insurance for the entire league and fans.

Use of pitching nets by the American League..

Rules need to be discussed (i.e. grace period, 2 bases, etc.) Paul Knotts will chair a meeting with several directors.

Treasurers Report: Beginning amount 24,408.11(adjusted) Ending amount 17,808.34.

Topics Discussed:

Ÿ Web site: Banquet information is listed on the web site. 108 pre-paid for banquet

Ÿ Banquet: Banquet is scheduled for 6:30 November 8th, 2014. All tickets are $10.00 per person. $10.00 at the door. Bedoe’s BBQ is catering the banquet. To be held at Canton Moose Lodge.

a. 10 $25.00 Gift cards will be raffled.

b. Sponsors, umpires, and scorekeepers are guest of the CSSA.

c. Awards/trophy’s have been ordered.

Ÿ Fall elections: Election for Board of Directors members will be held the night of the banquet. (Need to be a paying member in order to qualify to vote) See Addendum A.

The following members having been nominated and having no opposition will be voted on by the members by November 8, 2014.

Ÿ Ending Season Games: Only American League have games to make up on 11/4/14.

Other business: These items were discussed and were tabled for further discussion.

Ÿ Softballs: Need to decide on type of softballs and bats that will be allowed for the 2015 Spring and Fall season. The board discussed the pros and cons of using 52/300, 44/375, 40/375 ASA softballs. Also the pro and cons of switching to a yellow softball rather than a white softball.

Ÿ Kelly’s Ultimate Sports is having a sell on softball bats.

Next meeting December 1, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. at the Recreation Center.

Custom Graphics 65’s Tournament Team is looking for a few good players for the 2015 season. The team has lost about 5 guys to Barney Greene’s 70’s team. We are looking for another Pitcher, Outfielders, and Infielders. Players must be 65 by the end of 2015 in order to qualify.
