The Mount Kisco playoffs were completed with the final game between Kisco International and Deportivo Atlas. The Championship game was played on Sunday, October 26th and was the most exciting game of the 2014 season. Two equal teams were matched in the CHAMPIONSHIP game as it should be. The game was played with fair, fierce, physical and very exciting action with very minimal dissent. The match was back and forth, with Kisco International scoring the game tying goal in the 35th minute of second half and winning the Championship game on kicks from the penalty mark. It was an incredible game by both teams and congratulations must be given to both sides. Really well done!!!!

Mahopac FC Home Field, Mahopac, NY – September 7, 2014
Despite what the score suggests, Lagrange United and coach Andrew Deegan, at times really tested the resolve of Mahopac FC team and their coach Pat Gallagan.
With crisp and accurate passing Lagrange United controlled the ball early on in the first period and pressed the attack creating a number of opportunities inside the Mahopac FC penalty area. Outstanding defense especially by Mahopac FC defenders Mike Chitu, Conor Healy and Mahopac FC goalkeeper Steve Garcia prevented them from scoring.
Mahopac FC midfield then started moving the ball up field more effectively and after 15 minutes of intense play, Mahopac FC striker Tom “Tommie” Rosney sparked his team by scoring the first goal off a solid right-footed shot from just outside the Lagrange penalty area. At the 30 minutes mark, Mahopac FC’s striker Shefquet “Shultz” Kabashi skillfully and accurately placed a slow moving ball into the Lagrange United goal, from within the penalty area.
When the second half started, Mahopac FC appeared to be dominating play. Lagrange United midfield then tried a new tactic…chipping the ball over Mahopac FC defenders, creating opportunities for their speedy strikers to beat defenders to the ball. At 60 minutes, the Mahopac FC goalkeeper mishandled a high, hard hit chip and it sailed past him, giving Lagrange United a goal. Ten minutes later, Mahopac FC midfield tried the same tactic against Lagrange United defenders. Mahopac FC’s Jason Scozzafava raced the Lagrange United goalkeeper to a chipped ball, beat him and deftly kicked a ball from 30 yards out into the upper left corner of the goal. The game ended with no further goals being scored.

Mahopac FC co-coach Mark Dolan is looking for a few more players to fill their 2014-2015 roster. Mahopac FC takes on Somers and coach Mario Corrado, another home game, at 9:00 am Sunday September 14, 2014.
