Thank You Sharks
Dear Santiago Aquatics Family,
It is with mixed emotions that I write this letter, but after 5 amazing years of working with the most wonderful and talented kids and families here at Santiago, I have decided to take an assistant principal position within the Huntington Beach Union High School District. While this is not an easy decision to make, I feel as though it is the best decision for my family and my career in education.
We have done so many great things together over the years. We have won 10 Big VIII league Championships, won countless invitationals including the largest one on the west coast, went to Montana where everyone survived, and have competed at the very top level of CIF as individuals and members of All American Relays. Our program has been recognized as one of the top academic programs in Riverside county and our kids have earned awards for their outstanding leadership by the school and district again and again. I could go on and on because I firmly believe that our kids are the very best. With that said, I know that the future of the team is bright because it has always been you Sharks that have, “made it happen”.
It takes a lot to be a swimmer at Santiago, so I want to say thank you to the swimmers for their commitment and hard work. I want to say thank you to the parents for all your support and allowing the coaching staff to help in the development of your child. Lastly I have to thank the administration here at Santiago for all their support of the aquatics program over the years.
Saying goodbye to amazing people that have had an impact on your life is always challenging, so instead I would like to say thank you one last time. It has been a pleasure to be a part of this team and the Shark Family.
School Board Meeting 6:46
Ok Girls, be there at 6:45 for your sweet patch and recognition. It will be brief, as you are the first to go when the meeting starts at 7. Let me just say that I’m so proud of all of you. You have sacrificed so much time to being great in the classroom and the pool. Congrats!!!
League Patches and School Board Meeting + Patch for Girls
League patches are in. I will be at the pool tomorrow from 9am to 1pm to give those out before I am off to Florida.
League patches are for those swimmers that swam at the meet only.
Girls, you have a board meeting tomorrow to get your award and patch from the Riverside Department of Education. The awards are based on 3rd quarter so if you were not part of the varsity program then, then you will not receive a patch. I also talked to a few of you who were not cleared at the time or were accidentally not pasted (1 swimmer) to the roster for some reason. Nicho will be with you girls tomorrow. If you don’t go, you can receive that patch when I get back in two weeks from my vacation. Please be at the District Office in Norco at ……. time to come
Award Winners from 3rd Quarter Varsity:
Found some money in the swim office
On Tuesday, someone dropped some money in the office when they were getting their pictures. If you are missing some cash, email me or text me so I can get it back to you.
Swim Pictures and Letters
I have the team pictures and letters in the swim office so make sure you are in class tomorrow and Thursday if you want those before we leave. Seniors, I will be at the pool today at 12:00 and tomorrow and Thursday from 10:00 AM to 12:30, so swing by. Lastly, as the norm, we typically don’t get league championship patches until the summer so I will email everyone when those come in. They have been ordered so we should see those in the next week or two. If you have any questions, please remember parents, let your swimmer be the focal point of communication with me. Have a great summer and train hard!!
