Despite the bad weather, the X-Treme 97 Girls and parents weathered the rain and made it thru the Mud to finish second place in the Baltimore Mania. They did it all, averaging 3 goals per game on saturday to finish first in thier bracket and then won it in sudden death penalty kicks in the semi final before losing 2-1 in the final running out of steam playing thier fourth game in two days.
They did a great job of controlling the ball and scoring when they needed to and the coaching staff couldnt be prouder of thier level of effort and thier play. They will now turn thier attention to league play as thier first game is on April 1st.
Great job ladies… way to go!!!!

This tournament will be held St. Patrick’s Day Weekend – March 17-18. (You will need a room for Friday, 3/16 and Saturday, 3/17.)

We are staying at the Courtyard by Marriott, 105 Southpark Dr., Blacksburg, VA. Phone is 540 552 5222. It is the #1 ranked hotel in town on Tripadvisor and is four years old. It is about five minutes from the field and five minutes from downtown. Very convenient location. It has an indoor pool and a good breakfast is included in the $99 rate. The nice lady Lauren there is hooking us up with a free meeting room we can use for Saturday night for dinner and the meeting Steve wants to have that weekend. I figure we can do something easy and cheap like pizza and beer. More details to come on that.
