GLOBE: Lexington rises to its season-high of No. 3.
From the 10/8/2018 Boston Globe Poll:
Nauset remains atop this week’s Globe Top 20 after running its record to 11-0. Lexington rises to its season-high of No. 3. Masconomet worked its way into the poll with a 3-0 week, and Winchester made its return with a 3-0 run of its own. Rankings are based on scores reported to the Globe.

VARSITY & JV GAMES TODAY POSTPONED TO 10/12
The game vs Winchester, scheduled for today at 4 pm is postponed until tomorrow Friday at 4 pm. JV will play at 5:30 PM.

GLOBE: Needham enters the poll at No. 13
There’s a new No. 1 in the Globe’sTop 20 boys’ soccer poll. Nauset has started a perfect 9-0 and has unseated Brockton for the top spot after the Boxers have lost two in a row. No. 8 Lincoln-Sudbury earned a thrilling win over Concord-Carlisle in the nightcap of the Kicks for Cancer tournament. Needham enters the poll at No. 13 after a solid draw with Lexington Saturday upped their record to 6-1-2. Teams are selected by the Globe sports staff based on scores reported to the Globe.

HERALD: Arlington offense in charge
The article is about Arlington, but the pictures are good of our boys who got the 1-0 win. (Ignore the captions).
Arlington scored 22 times during a 5-0 start, which ended with a 1-0 loss to Lexington on Thursday, but it’s the Spy Ponders ability to come through in the second half that is more telling.
SATURDAY: KICKS FOR CANCER
We are excited to participate in the Kicks for Cancer event next week’s Saturday, September 29.
The Lexington Varsity Boys are playing Needham at 12.15 pm on Turf 1 at Concord Carlisle High School.
More about Kicks for Cancer:
- Started in 2007, Kicks for Cancer is played annually in support of all families who have been touched by this awful disease. All proceeds from the games will be donated in memory of Lois Wells to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute to support woman’s cancer research. Last year they raised more than $60,000: -.
- Teams will wear pink or teal uniforms to support breast cancer and ovarian cancer. They will have a name printed on the back that has a personal connection to the disease.
- More than 15 competitive Highs School Varsity Teams will participate in the event.
- Each team is to sell tickets and bring and opportunity drawing prize valued at $200: – or more.
Due to, receiving the raffle tickets to sell very late from the organizers and our own recent TOPS fundraiser, LHS not participating in this part of the event.
The Boosters have however secured a gift certificate from The Inn at Hastings Park, it’s a one-night stay including breakfast. This is worth over $300: – and we are grateful and excited to be able to support the opportunity drawing with this gift from the Lexington Boys’ High School Soccer Program.
