Lions shut down Avengers, 7-1!
Led by the strong pitching of Aidan Burdick, who powered through five strong innings for the Narragansett/South Kingstown, the Lions defeated the Avengers, 7-1. Burdick allowed just three hits.
Defensively, the Lions were firing on all cylinders with Tyler Poirier and Ryan Camp making timely diving plays to prevent the Avengers from crossing the plate. In addition, the nifty glove work by Nolan Rodman at first base anchored the team picking everything thrown at him from the dirt.
The Lions came out hard again scoring 4 runs on five hits in the first two innings; Colin Masseur had a key double.
In the fifth inning, they scored two more runs on hits from Ben Paskalides and Nolan Rodman.
CJ and Chad Cappolla and Even Macaulay had the only hits for the Avengers in game.
