GORMAN LIKELY CHOICE FOR FALCONS...

Posted by Patrick Dailey at Apr 20, 2004 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )

Rod Gorman will likely be named the
new head coach at Glendale High within
the next several days. However, an
official announcement has yet to
be made by R-12 AD Mark Fisher.
Coach Gorman
has spent the past eight seasons as the
head basketball coach at Logan-Rogersville High. Just like Glendale's
first coach, Mr. Gorman was a standout
player at Drury Univ. during the 80's.

Coach Gorman's Career Record...
345-143 / .70% overall
Logan-Rogersville Wildcats
2003-2004 / 26-2
2002-2003 / 27-3 (Class 4 Elite 8)
2001-2002 / 21-9
2000-2001 / 19-10
1999-2000 / 24-6 (3-A Elite 8)
1998-1999 / 16-10
1997-1998 / 25-6 (3-A Elite 8)
1996-1997 / 19-10
Cape Girardeau Central Tigers
1991-1996
Festus Tigers
1990-1991 / 30-1 (3-A State Champs!)
Bourbon Warhawks
1989-1990 (2-A Sweet 16)

Within the next few days, AD Fisher will make his decision as to which
individual will carry on the PROUD basketball tradition at Glendale
High. This hire will directly impact the future of the program and will
hopefully be the turning point in our battle with that school to the
southwest! Once the decision is made public, I will update the web page
as soon as humanly possible with a full bio breakdown of our new coach!

FINAL EIGHT CANDIDATES...

- Dion Hargrove, Current Head Coach at West Plains
266-44 / .858% at the high school level

- Denny Hunt, Current Kickapoo J.V. Coach
352-262 / .573% at the high school level

- Ray Shaffer, Current Glendale J.V. Coach

- Sean Williamson, Current Head Coach at Willard
   203-139 / .593% at Willard

- Gary Stanfield, Former Head Coach at Drury Univ.
254-146 / .635% at the high school level

- Darren Kirksey, Current Parkview J.V. Coach

- Greg Harding, Former Head Coach at Hillcrest
   79-56 / .585% at Hillcrest

- A mystery candidate from Topeka, Kansas is also in the running
