Glendale Hall of Famer Tara Mitchem had her
jersey retired & led the Lady Falcons to the MO
Class 4-A State Championship in 1996. In
addition, she played college basketball at Ohio
State ('96-'97) and for three years at Missouri
State University. In her senior year, Tara helped
the Lady Bears to the 2001 NCAA Final Four in
St. Louis, Missouri. She scored 40 points against
Toledo in Missouri State's first round game of
that tournament. She was drafted in the WNBA
by the New York Liberty. At Glendale, Tara
scored a school record 2,136 points, which ranks
35th All-Time in Missouri state history.

Upset 19-2-2 Rolla in the title game, 3-2.
The Lady Falcons(14-10-1) lost to Kickapoo 0-2 in
the state sectional contest.
OZARK CONFERENCE BASKETBALL NEWS

Current Camdenton and former West Plains head coach
Dion Hargrove has been named the new head coach
at Springfield Hillcrest High School. Coach Hargrove
had a two-year record of 35-19 at West Plains along with
two back-to-back district titles. This season, he had to
deal with injuries and football players joining the team
late to finish 6-19 at Camdenton. The Lakers did force
Kickapoo into overtime before falling 59-66. Coach
Hargrove was also a candidate for the Glendale job
opening in 2004. His 13-year career at Viola, Arkansas
and Bradford, Arkansas produced a 2002 State
Championship in basketball and two State titles in
baseball. He has 13-State Tournament appearances to
his credit over 16 years of coaching and 11 Coach-of-the
-Year awards.
Camdenton has hired Rogie Carlock, the head coach at
Eldon, Mo., to take over for Coach Hargrove.
Former Glendale standout Jay Spoonhour has been
hired as an assistant coach at NCAA Div. I Texas-San
Antonio.
Also, First-year Glendale Freshmen Coach John
Schaeffer has been hired as Head Coach at Mountain
Grove High School. Three-year assistant John Dicks will
take over as head freshmen mentor.
2006 'Winter Classic' MVP Ben Hansbrough, Poplar Bluff,
has been named the Mr. Show-Me Basketball for 2006!
Also, 'Winter Classic' All-Tournament player J.D.
Christie has signed with Evansville University.

This will be the ninth T OF C appearance for Glendale
since the tournament started in 1985. Then Glendale
head coach Mike Keltner helped to start the event and
played an extremely important role in the continued
success of the classic for years afterwards. Glendale is
the only Springfield school with a winning record at the
T OF C and won the whole darn thing in 1994!

Glendale will also play in the 61st Annual Greenwood
Blue & Gold tournament over the Christmas Holiday
period. In addition, they'll once again host the 'Winter
Classic' at Glendale in late January. The Falcons will
play all 10 regular season tournament games in
Springfield for the first time in history.
