POST SEASON

Posted by Tiff Perry at Jun 20, 2019 9:01AM PDT ( 0 Comments )

—Let us know whether your team will be participating in the post season games, as this effects the bracket and seeding. Please note that if a team commits to the tourney and drops out after bracket is made, there will be a fine issued to your team. Please let us know by JUNE 22 at the latest by texting or emailing me either a yes or no. I have already confirmed with some, so thank you.

—If you are participating, we are scheduled to have our post season meeting to distribute brackets on June 24th at 6pm at the VFW.

—Reminder that Play Offs will be held at Throop, Classics will be at Jessup. They will each run from June 26th through July 3rd.

—We are extending the final day of the season through June 23rd. Please try to get all your games in prior to then. Teams must complete a full schedule in order to be eligible for playoffs. If you are having a difficult time rescheduling, look into doing shortened double headers, where both coaches agree before hand on a time limit or a reduced number of innings in order to get the game in.

Reminders 5/6

Posted by Tiff Perry at May 7, 2019 9:16AM PDT ( 0 Comments )

As we are making our way through the first few weeks of the season, I just wanted to offer a few reminders.

Reporting Scores to Valley: Home team should email or text me within 48 hours of game completion so the website can be updated in a timely manner.

All Star Tourneys: Currently, Dickson City confirmed: July 7th-14th, Tripp Park: July 15th-21st, Dunmore confirmed: July 22nd – 28th. Unfortunately, we do not have anyone currently committed to hosting a fourth tournament at this time. If any organization is interested, please contact me so we can lock down some more games for these girls.

Rain Delays/Postponements: Please make sure the umpire is cancelled or notified as soon as possible. Mark Lance and I will also need to be notified of postponements. In the case of postponement, I will leave Rule #18 from the 2019 Valley Petunia Rules here: Every attempt should be made to play all scheduled games by the deadline agreed to by the league. A game must be rescheduled within one week. The new date and time must be reported to the commission prior to the game being played. A team is allowed only 1 non-rainout game. League and opponent needs 24 hr notice of a game cancellation. Also, Valley League Common By Laws #15: If the game is not rescheduled within 1 week, it will be rescheduled at a time and venue designated by the commissioners. If a team has an incomplete record at the end of the completed season, it will not be allowed to participate in the Playoff tournament. (I will add—-this includes cross-over games.)

Reporting Game Results to Times-Tribune Paper: Winning team can report game result to the newspaper, please make sure to include the name of our league 12U Valley Petunia League. To do so, send an email to: sports@timesshamrock.com. First, list the Winning Team and Losing Team, then Winning Pitcher’s Name and put in parenthesis if the pitcher has any of the following: 10K’s or more; no hitter; or 1 hitter. If both pitchers from each team gets over 10K’s list both pitchers by name with winning pitcher first. Also, anyone from either team should be mentioned for the following: a double, triple or home run. Then list any girls who get more than 1 hit. This is a nice way to get the girls some recognition.

Rules/Score Books: It was brought to my attention that rule and score books were not offered at any of the meetings this year. If you are interested or in need of them, please feel free to contact me and we can arrange to get them to/from the appropriate parties.

Updated Coaches Contact List: There is an updated coaches contact list available in the hand out section of the eteamz website.
