Good morning all.  I hope everyone is well.  First, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you.  I appreciate you volunteering your time to our players, families, and community.  You have been appointed by the league President, and all have been approved by the MILL Board to manage a team.  This procedure is clearly documented and detailed in the L.L. “Green Book.”   Also, one alternate per division has been selected and confirmed.  Alternates are necessary being registration numbers could change?  I phoned potential managers yesterday, and was fortunate enough to speak with the majority throughout the day/evening.

In addition, I would like to address specific duties and responsibilities which are quickly approaching.  We have meetings, tryouts, trainings, and draft dates planned.  Your participation is essential, and mandatory at certain MILL events.  Please note the following dates;

• January 17^th, Thursday, 6:30 PM, at South:  Tryout Meeting, all potential managers should attend.  We will be discussing tryout procedures, scoring methods, and planning the day.  
• January 19^th, Saturday, 8:15 AM, at South:  Tryouts will be held.  Manager participation is mandatory.  Managers/coaches will help throughout the morning and afternoon.  We will need assistance with the tryout clinic.  Rain date make-up is scheduled for Sunday beginning at noon.
• January 25^th, Friday, 6:30 PM, at South:  MAJORS DRAFT will be held.  Only the following will be permitted to attend; The manager selected from each team, Majors Player Agent, Vice President and President of MILL. 
• January 26^th, Saturday, 12:30 PM, Space Coast Stadium:  MILL Coaches Clinic given by Top Prospect Baseball.  Each team should send one team representative to this fundamentals training.  The clinic will be held at the field located adjacent to the ticket windows. 
• January 27^th, Sunday, at South: 
  • 12:30 PM- MINOR 1 DRAFT, managers selected, player agent(s), VP/President will attend.
  • 1:30 PM- MINOR 2 DRAFT, managers selected, player agent(s), VP/President will attend.
  • 2:30 PM- T-BALL DRAFT, managers selected, player agent(s), VP/President will attend.

Please arrive on time to your designated draft slot. The league drafts will be conducted by our MILL Player Agents.  We will be adhering to the L.L. Operating Manual.

January 29^th, Tuesday, 6:30-8 PM, at South:  Bill Howe, our MILL Equipment Manager will distribute necessary equipment to the league.  Each team will receive some practice baseball furnished by MILL.  Game balls will be forwarded on a later date.

Mel Lang, MILL Chief Umpire and I will be forwarding a preseason practice schedule for the league.  This will be available at the end of January.  Team practices will begin no later than February 1^st.  Your practice slots will be recorded on our MILL web site.  Practices will be held at our East and South Fields.

Opening day is slated for March 1^st, Saturday, 10 AM, at South.  Teams will be playing games on opening day this year!

February 8^th, Friday, at East, 6 PM:  MANDATORY MANAGERS MEETING/UMPIRE CLINIC.  All managers must attend this meeting.  Managers will be required and scheduled to umpire games throughout the season.  We will review MILL policies, rules, and procedures for the season.  Please be sure to attend.

February 9^th, Saturday, at South, 9 AM:  First Aid/CPR Training will be held.  Please have one team representative (coach/team mom) attend this mandated training.
