Minor 2 Tournament Information

Posted by Carla Steinmetz at May 11, 2007 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
The Minor 2 tournament starts after the final season game. Please start preparing your team parents. They'll need to be prepared to be the home team during any one of the tournament games (but they won't know until just before the game if they'll be home or away), so please ask them to let you know if there are any dates that they CANNOT make so that you can start preparing a volunteer schedule. Mon 5/15/07 5:30pm - 7:30pm Minor 2 Tournament Game 1 TROPICAL Field 2 Wed 5/16/07 5:30pm - 7:30pm Minor 2 Tournament Game 2 TROPICAL Field 2 Wed 5/16/07 5:30pm - 7:30pm Minor 2 Tournament Game 3 (W1 v bye) AUDUBON Field 2 Fri 5/18/07 5:30pm - 7:30pm Minor 2 Tournament Championship Game AUDUBON Field 1 The Minor 2 tournament is coming up, and we are hoping the players will enjoy the last few games of the season. To be fair and consistent, we would like to observe the following during the remaining games; - Players should receive 5 pitched balls per at bat. A foul ball on the last swing should warrant another pitch. This will help keep the game moving at a decent pace. - Minor 2 games last an hour and half long max. - The five run rule for each inning should be in effect throughout the game. - Players fielding the pitchers position should have BOTH FEET on the pitching mound/clay area. It is NOT necessary to be standing directly on the pitching rubber. - The coach should be pitching the baseball a decent distance from the batter overhand. - Runners should stop advancing on the bases once a player has control of the ball in the infield. If a player is more than half way advancing to a base, the player is entitled to the base if the ball is controlled. - Coaches will continue to umpire there own games faithfully.

Fundraiser for TBall Mom

Posted by Carla Steinmetz at May 11, 2007 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
One of our TBall moms (she has 2 boys on the Orioles) was in a terrible accident recently and spent some time in the hospital. Thankfully, she is recovering, but it will take some time. There is a fundraiser for Audriel McClellan Campbell on May 17 at the Merritt Island Uno Chicago Grill (795 E. Merritt Island Causeway, in front of Merritt Square Mall). Up to 20% of any tab will be donated to help Audriel. Tickets/Coupons are required, and we will get some copies to have available at the concession stand next week. If you'd like to donate to the family directly, Susan and Richard (Audriel's mother and father) have opened an account on behalf of Audriel at Washington Mutual. Here is information about the account: Acct. #: 3121946989 for Audriel McLellan
