What are the residency requirements?
Merritt Island Little League does have residency requirements that vary by season. Our league boundaries cover all of Merritt Island down to the Pineda Causeway. Proof of residency is required at registration. See Forms & Documents for more information.
New Little League rules now allow players who attend a Merritt Island school to play in Merritt Island Little League. Registering players must provide our league with the Little League School Enrollment form validating attendance at a Merritt Island school. See Forms & Documents for more information.
Fall Season: Residency rules are relaxed for the Fall Ball season. Merritt Island Little League accepts players from all over Central Brevard provided their own league is not offering a Fall Ball program.

What are the divisions of play?
Wee Ball: ages 4 - 5; very fundamental, players hit off of a tee only, no scores or standings
Tee Ball: ages 5 - 6; fundamentals, players hit from a tee or coach toss, no scores or standings
Minor II: ages 7 - 8; fundamentals to basics, machine pitch, no scores or standings, try-out required, players who are age 6 can try-out for Minor II if they've previously played tee ball
Minor I: ages 9 - 10; basics to advanced, kid pitch, scores, no standings, try-out required, Minor I Championship played at the end of the season
Majors: ages 11- 12; most advanced & competitive, kid pitch, scores and standings, try-out required, Majors Championship played at the end of the season, top ranked team advances to play in county tournament
