Let’s take this show on the road….. We had some awesome performances this weekend. Lots of PRs and outstanding efforts but I think we need some more competition especially our relays.

I know a lot of you have asked about meets in California. Well we have decided to go to the Pacific Coast Shockwave meet at Cerritos College Falcon Field, Norwalk, CA on June 2nd and 3rd. We here they run a great meet.

Please note that this is on the parents and the club does not assist with this track meet. With that said we would need to collect $14 from each athlete to pay registration fees. 

I and other parents can take your child with us if you cannot go. It will be a quick turnaround trip. I for one will be leaving on Friday night and returning after the meet on Sunday.

Anyone can go…. We need to see where we are nationally before Nationals and California is where we will see what we can really do.

We would especially like to run our best 4x1 and 4x4 relays…. Plus each athletes best individual events to see where we stand.

Please let me know if your child can run and if you would need a hotel room. If you don’t know if you are needed please ask and I will let you know. I will be sending out the relays I would love to see later this week. 

?Please send questions and concerns. I can even look into a chartered bus it would be cheap to California. Let me know your thoughts ASAP by responding to this email.

CHECKED ON CHARTERED BUS... IF WE GET ENOUGH PEOPLE TO FILL A BUS, IT WOULD BE $60 ROUNDTRIP PER PERSON.  The bus would leave Chandler High School on Friday morning, June 1st and return directly after the track meet on Sunday, June 3rd... arriving at Chandler High around 5am on Monday.  I need responses.
 
 
Track Meet is at Mesa Community College in Mesa,
Saturday & Sunday, April 13th & 14th, 2018 at 8:00am - Be at the track at 7:00 am or earlier.  Field events start at 7:30am.  LET'S GET THESE ATHLETES PUMPED AND BRING HOME THOSE TROPHIES!!!  Please DO NOT allow your kids to walk around.  If they are not running or warming up they should be sitting.
 
Please wear your uniform and T-Shirt and do not wear any other colors than black & red even the girls sports bras.  Attire Black bottoms and your Red t-shirt.  PARENTS AND FANS PLEASE WEAR RED & BLACK TO SUPPORT OUR TEAM.

This is a point scoring meet.  It is crucial that EVERYONEmakes their events and perform. Each age category can win a trophy male and female.
   
I will get in early to rope off our section but need a few people in line with a tent early to start the set up and watch our spot. I WILL HAVE ROOM FOR ALL TENTS. We will have a Cheetah camp.

If you have a child on a relay, PLEASE GET TO KNOW YOUR RELAY MEMBERS AND PARENTS.  Exchange phone numbers to hopefully help with missing personnel.  If you have even the slightest of notions that you may not make it in time or have something else to do please please please call a relay member to arrange a ride to the meet and you can meet them later.  Same with rides home.  If you have to leave the meet early for some reason, please DO NOT take your child.  Let the coaches know and we will get them home if necessary.
 
I am also available to transport an athlete to the meet and/or home if necessary.  Just call or text me - (480) 406-4266.

PI Meet Information Flowdown from our Youth Chair
  • Spikes must be 1/4" pyramid or smaller. No needles. No exceptions.

  • No canopies, tents, or large umbrellas will be allowed in the West stands.They are only allowed in the East stands or in the grass, and only after 5:30 A.M. Saturday April, 14, 2018. If double stacking tents limits the view you will be asked to take down the lower tent.

  • There is a college meet Friday night, so absolutely NO SET UP before Saturday 5:30am. Gates open at 5:30am. Tents / camps in the stadium before 5:30am Saturday will be taken down.

  • Stadium entry and set up procedure: Starting at 5:30am we will start staging for stadium entry and team set up. Two gates will be utilized. North and South. 10 people at a time with TWO tents per person. No saving of space without tents. No taping off areas without tents. If you do not have a tent you cannot hold a spot. There is a lot room on the grass in this stadium. we have not had any issues previously with team camps or lack of space.
  • Restricted access: Do not go into restricted areas that are marked / flagged off. These are flagged off for competition and safety reasons. 

  • The infield and track are closed at all times to coaches and spectators.

  • The North Long Jump Pit is #2, the Infield Pit is #1. Field events will advance 9 to finals.

  • Field events start at 8:00 A.M. Warm up is at 7:30 A.M. Late arrivals will not be given run a through once the event has started.

  • Advancement to finals in the 100m and 200m will be the 9 fastest times. In the event semis are not required, the final will be run Saturday and will not be rolled over to the next day.

  • The 800m run will be conducted with a one-turn stagger start, maximum 12 athletes per heat.

  • The 4x400m relay will be conducted with a three turn stagger.

  • The 1500m will be run with a maximum of 18 per heat.

  • Inquiries must be made by the coaches, not parents, at the inquire area near the finish line, and the Referee will be called. Please do not bother the timing crew. All questions will be answered in the tent. In the event a protest if filed, in regard to the Referee's decision, the Jury of Appeals will be convened.

  • Athletes who lose their bib number will be charged $2 for a replacement.

  • There will be a coach/parent 4x100m relay Sunday after the 4x100m relays, no entry fee, and no awards. Sign up will be in the award area throughout the day Saturday and Sunday.

  • Coaches are responsible for the conduct of all their team members and parents. Failure to maintain proper control and to display good sportsmanship could result in the removal of the team or individual from the meet, and site.

  • Smoking is not allowed at the track and field complex, anywhere inside the perimeter fence. 

  • Consumption of alcohol is NOT permitted on the school property, and will me immediately reported to the police. No pets allowed in the stadium. NO Cooking on school property including parking lot.
