About the League

Posted by Gina Bouvier at Sep 11, 2012 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )

Welcome to Santa Fe Girls Softball League, dedicating the last 30+ years to supporting our area girls in the sport of fast pitch softball!  Softball season is the best time of year!  We have league play and tournament teams in age brackets 6 & Under going up to 18 & Under.

Please join us for some exciting and rewarding fast pitch softball.

On behalf of the Board, we welcome you and invite you to participate in your child’s development through youth sports.

Santa Fe Girls Softball League is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization supported solely by volunteers and local business and community investment.

We were organized in 1978 when a group of individuals pulled together enough funds to purchase the 8 and ½ acre facility on 6th street.  The first season was played in 1979 and since then, SFGSL has grown to have the largest number of participants in the District 31 division.

As our league grows, we want to stay focused and dedicated to providing a positive, family oriented and friendly atmosphere where our young ladies can learn “life lessons” and develop positive character traits.

The Board of Directors will do our best to provide the basic structure to run the league and we are committed to providing a safe environment for your child so that she can play and learn safely with her friends.     In order to do this we rely on the efforts of our volunteers.  SFGSL would not exist without its many volunteers!!

We need over 50 adult volunteers to run a program that benefits hundreds of young ladies.  What a great opportunity to spend time with your child and show her how your values are translated into action.  Your volunteer time does not have to be a full time commitment.  It can be as simple as being a scorekeeper, team parent or shagging balls during practice.  Offer to coach and be more involved with your child and team! Feel free to contact any of the SFGSL Board Members with comments or concerns.  We look forward to another phenomenal year of softball.
