Nationals Rally to Eliminate American
The Danville National 11/12s came from behind to defeat Danville American 9-8. The Nationals fell behind by a 6-1 margin, but clawed their way back into the game and eventually took the lead. The Americans mounted a rally in the bottom of the 6th, but left the tying and go-ahead runs in scoring position.
The Nationals will face Lynchburg Jefferson in a must-win game Monday at 6:30 pm at Miller Park.
American and National 11/12s Battle to Avoid Elimination
Danville American 11/12s Lose Opener, Fight Off Elimination
The Danville American 11/12 All-Stars lost their opening game Friday night by a score of 16-4 to Lynchburg Colonial.
Facing elimination, the Americans defeated Charlotte County 16-5 on Sunday to stay alive.
On Monday night at Dan Daniel, the Americans faced the same Colonial team from the previous Friday. This time the good guys prevailed, coming from behind for the 6-5 win. The defeat eliminates Colonial, and the Americans await the loser of Tuesday's showdown between Lynchburg Jefferson and Danville National.
Nationals Win Opener, Set for Jefferson
The Danville National 11/12s opened district play with a come-from-behind 7-6 win over Charlotte County on Saturday.
Danville National scored three runs in the top of the sixth, and held on for the win.
Next up for the Nationals is Lynchburg Jefferson, who opened with a 6-5 win over Lynchburg Colonial. The game is set for 6:30 pm, Tuesday at Dan Daniel.
