Game Highlights 5/23/13 - 5/19/13
The Red Wings saw their season come to an end as the IronPig busted out for five runs in both the second and third innings and cruised to victory to remain alive in the tournament.
Aiden Daniels gave the Red Wings an early lead with a three-run home run in the first inning, but the Bulls came back with a five-run second inning to remain in the winner's bracket.
Christopher Soto led the way for the Bulls, throwing the last 3-2/3 innings in relief and striking out 10 for the victory in addition to a two-run single in the Bulls' second as part of a 2-for-3 afternoon. Ivan Soto also drove in two runs for the winners. By E. Maddy
On Saturday, the Red Wings faced a rematch with a Knights team they had lost to in league play. Rallying from a 3-2 deficit, the Red Wings scored five times in the fourth and five more in the sixth, then held off a furious Knights rally in the bottom of the sixth for a 12-8 victory.
Jake Alvarez went 3-for-3 and drove in four runs to pace an 11-hit attack. Daniel Kotkosky went 3-for-4 and Kotkosky, Angel Zamora, and Jaxon Potter each had a pair of RBI. By E. Maddy
The Red Wings busted out their bats bigtime in their opening two playoff games, defeating the Express 14-4 on Friday and the Knights 12-8 on Saturday.
A five-run first inning was a big key to the victory over the Express, and the Wings kept things going by scoring in five of the six innings. Alec Muirhead went 3-for-4 and Daniel Kotkosky and Matt Hernandez each added two hits and scored three times for the winners. By E. Maddy
