Game Highlights (5/3/14-5/5/14)
Hot Rods 16, Express 5: May 3, 2014
Quentin Custodio and AJ Hurtado both homered to drive the Hot Rods to a 16-5 win over the Express Saturday, May 3 in Minor A action. The Hot Rods raised their record to 7 and 2 and moved to just a half game behind the league leading Express (7-1-1).
Hurtado's and Custodio's home runs, their seventh and fourth on the year respectively, led a 16-hit attack by the Hot Rods. Hurtado belted three doubles in addition to his homer and Custodio had a double and a single to go with his round tripper. Hurtado led the Hot Rods in runs, scoring five times.
Gavin Kells, Myles Lopez and Wyatt Smith each collected two hits for the hot hitting Hot Rods, and Carson Jones, Van Harmon, Carson Webb each chipped in with a hit.
The Hot Rod pitching was also running on all cylinders for most of the game. Hurtado pitched five scoreless innings, striking out 11 while giving up only two hits.
Matt Hernandez led the Express with two hits (both doubles), and Dylan Simonds, Lucas Flynn, and Nico Hagadorn each reached base on a hit also. Steven Venetantis, along with Simonds, Flynn, Hagadorn and Flynn each scored a run.

Game Highlights (4/23/14-4/30/14)
The Minor A Bats spread their wings Monday, April 28, knocking 15 hits in a 16-8 win over the Hot Rods.
Ethan Choi led the Bats' hit parade with three hits. Evan Knipe, Jack Sles, Jake Reagan, and Adam Bird each added a pair of hits. Kai Mullens, Jason Flory, Kai Almeda, and Brendan Clark each got one hit. Mullens, Knipe and Choi each scored twice.
Gavin Kells led the Hot Rods with two hits, including one double. Quentin Custodio, Carson Jones (a double) and Wyatt Smith each contributed a hit for the Hot Rods.
Cardiac Screenings April 26 at OVHS
OVLL is supporting non-profit organization Heartfelt Cardiac Projects that will offer cardiac screenings for kids and their families. On April 26, at Ocean View High School, for only $85 (a value of $1,500 of professional diagnostic services) individuals ages five and up will receive a comprehensive cardiac evaluation to pre-screen for this life-threatening condition.
