Game Summary: On a cold night where hits were a premium, Wilson’s and Bailey’s had a classic pitchers duel between starter Greg Enos and Alec Bedard. Wilson’s struck first in the 2nd when Remy Leduc go on by an error, went advance to second on a single by Greg and stole third before a walk loaded the bases. Remy scored on a pass ball. Wilson’s got 2 more runs in the 3rd on 2 straight walks, a fielder’s choice to get the runner at second and with runners on first and third, Josh doubled to left center scoring both runners. Bailey’s got their lone run in the 3rd on a single by DJ, who stole second and scored on a single by Steve Santos who was caught stealing by catcher Casey at second base to end the inning. Joe Craven relieved Alec in the 4th and got a strike out to end the 4th. Wilson’s got to Joe in the 5th when he got wild and after striking out the lead off batter, he walked the next 3 but got a pop out to second to get 2 outs. He they got wild and walked the next 2 to force in the final 2 runs. Greg, returning from an injury that kept him out for the last 6 games, was relieved after 1 batter in the 4th by Patrick who induced a double play to Evan at SS who stepped on second base and throw to first base. Cody Tompkins relieved Joe in the 5th and got the final 4 outs on 2 Ks, a single, a FC and a fly out to left. Bailey’s put a rally together in the bottom of the 6th on a single by DJ, an error by Evan put runners on first and second but Patrick finished off the game with 3 straight Ks.

GAME SUMMARY:Elmwood improved its record to 6-5 in a hard won battle and pitching duel with Bailey’s. Jake Eland and Danny Hayden locked horns in a pitchers’ duel that resulted in a total of seven hits over the course of the game. Hayden earned his fourth win of the season allowing just one run on two hits and logging nine strikeouts in five and one-third innings of work. Matt Boelter closed the game out in outstanding fashion, recording two-thirds of an inning of work and allowing no runs and no hits. Jake Eland pitched equally as well, but timely hits on the part of Tyler Carter and Travis Sampson gave Elmwood the edge in the 5-1 win. Baliey’s jumped out to an early 1-0 lead following a lead-off single by Dean Streich who eventually came around to score on a throwing error and consecutive passed balls. Elmwood was shut down in order in the bottom of the first, but responded with two runs in the bottom of the second on a single and stolen base by Tyler Carter, a walk by Liam Darcy, and an RBI single by Travis Sampson to take a 2-1 lead. Both offenses remained silent, behind outstanding pitching by Hayden and Eland, until the bottom of the fourth when Elmwood plated two more runs to take a 4-1 lead. Tyler Carter hit a lead-off single to open the bottom of the fourth and Liam Darcy drew his second walk of the game. Travis Sampson then doubled over the left fielder’s head to drive in two runs. Joe Craven came on in relief and dealt two strikeouts to end the inning. Elmwood added its final run in the bottom of the fifth following a lead-off walk to Cam Moniz, a two base error to left field and an RBI ground out to short on a diving play in the hole by Joe Craven. Danny Hayden reached his pitch count after retiring the first batter in the top of the sixth inning and gave way to Matt Boleter who came on to finish the game.
Junior Police edge PrintWorld 11-10
Both teams slugged it out on 5/26 for a combined 25 hits and three home runs before JP scored the winning run in the bottom of the 6th. PrintWorld's offense was led by Andrew Sarazen,Bobby Hanley, Anthony Caranci and Tanner Lindsey who each had 2 hits. Lindsey had a 3 run homer in the 4th to bring PrintWorld within 2 runs at 8-6. Junior Police Scored 8 runs after 2 innings with the big blow coming from Bob Daly who launched his second homer of the season, a 3 run blast over the left field fence in the 2nd inning. Jarett Hurteau also hit his second homer of the season for Junior Police who now have a team total of 8 home runs this season.
Matt Murphy,Trevor Huntington,Tyler Chabot and Cam Lamarre each had two hits for JP. Huntington led off the 6th with a triple and scored the winning run on a Hurteau single. Mansolillo,Mongeon and Pearson each added a hit to the Junior Police offense.
Daly started for Junior Police before giving way in the 4th to Hurteau.
PrintWorld's Lucas DesLaurious had a nice relief performance while Coppola, Smith and Fain all contributed hits for PrintWorld.
Junior Police now stand at 8 wins with 4 loses.
