Visitor top pitchers: Ryan Gwaltney- 6 innings, 2 hits, 9 K’s, 1BB
Game Summary: Ryan Gwaltney of Dave’s Marketplace and Danny Hayden of Elmwood Sports both pitched well enough to win, but in the end, Gwaltney had just a little more offensive support in route to an exciting 2-1 victory. Elmwood Sports took an early lead in the 2nd inning on a base hit by Tyler Carter and advanced on an error in the outfield and 2 pass balls. That solo run turned out to be the only run Elmwood would score, as Ryan Gwaltney was virtually un-hittable the remainder of the game. Kris Richard got Elmwood’s other base hit in the 6th inning but was stranded before scoring ending the game.Dave’s rallied in the 4th inning with a flurry of hits to take the lead 2-1. Timmy Lynch knocked in the tying run with a base hit, and Ryan Gwaltney helped his own cause with an RBI double. Dave’s 2 runs in the 4th inning were all they were to need for their 6th win against 1 loss.
