Phillies 9 vs A's 14

The #3 seeded A's came out firing in the 1st inning against the Phillies putting up 5 runs and holding the #11 seeded team to one. But the Phillies were hot off of their big upset against the Braves, and they in turn put up 5 runs in the top of the 2nd. The A's answered back with 4 more, gaining a 3 run lead. Jaxon Gray continued on the mound through the 3rd and 4th, shutting down the Phillies bats. Out of 6 batters, he put up 4 K's straight, grounding out the other 2 batters. In the end, the A's put the Phillies down in the bottom of the bracket with a 14 to 9 win.

Dodgers 4 vs O's 5

Coach Lowden's aces (Matthew & Ryland) put up 14 K's to pull the biggest upset yet of the Mustang tournament. The Dodgers' bats wen silent for 3 innings with a short rally in the 5th to briefly take the lead. But the #7 seeded Orioles put up 3 more runs in the 5th to send the 2nd place Dodgers down to the losers bracket, where they will fight for their lives on Tuesday night.

Braves 5 vs Yankees 19
The #6 seeded Yankees came out strong against a Braves team that has struggled throughout the season. The Yankees defense shutdown the Braves in the 1st three innings and 5-runned them in the 3rd, 4th and 5th innings. The final score: Braves 5, Yankees 19.

A's 5 vs Cubs 10
The #10 seeded A's gave the #7 seeded Cubs a lot to worry about. After 3 innings Coach Rocky's A's were leading by one run despite Ryan Bognaski putting one over the fence for his first homerun of the year. The Cubs were able to pull ahead in the 4th and put up another 5 runs in the 5th to secure their win. Final score: A's 5, Cubs 10.

Dodgers 16 vs Mets 6
The #4 seeded Mets were looking for a repeat of their mid-season victory over the #5 seeded Dodgers. The Dodgers had different ideas. Coach Hemmis's team held the Mets to only 1 run every inning. The final score: Dodgers 16, Mets 6.

Rangers 5 vs Red Sox 18
The Red Sox showed Coach Bolling's 8th seeded Rangers what it takes to go undefeated for an entire regular season - big bats and a shutdown defense. Jake Tone went yard for his first home run on the Pinto field contributing to the 13 run deficit over the Rangers. Final score: Rangers 5, Red Sox 18.

Yankees 5 vs Cubs 9

The #8 seeded Cubs took a slight lead early in their matchup against the #9 seeded Yankees. After 2 innings the Cubs had a one run lead of 3 to 2. They increased their lead by 6 more over the 3rd and 4th innings bringing the score to 9-3. The Yankees staged a little come-back in the 5th with help from C. Powers' pitching, but it was a little too little, too late. The final score: Yankees 5, Cubs 9.

Phillies 6 vs. Rangers 12
It was a tight race between the #8 seeded Phillies and the #9 seeded Rangers with a tie score of 2 to 2 at the end of the 2nd inning. The Phillies pulled ahead in the 3rd, scoring 2 more, and shutting down the Rangers' bats in the bottom half of the 3rd. The Rangers kept fighting. Three doubles in the 4th inning opened up a run-fest. The Rangers scored 5 in the 4th, and another 5 in the 5th, dashing the Phillies hopes of an upset. Final score: Rangers 12, Phillies 6. For this win, the Rangers are rewarded with a matchup against the #1 seeded Red Sox on Saturday at 2:15.
