Spring Baseball Registration
and Start of the Season Information

Registration is winding down.  Evaluations were completed this past weekend and drafts will occur this week.

  • ONLINE registration is still up and running on the website  Register Now!  Now that we have made team / coach assignments, we have a limited number of spots remaining in each division.  If your son or daughter is interested in playing this spring and you have not registered, please do so as soon as possible to avoid being waitlisted.
  • If you are waitlisted, depending on team capacities, we will contact you when a spot opens up.  If we are not able to place your child, you will be refunded any registration fees.
What Happens Next:

Shetland 4/5 and Shetland 6 teams are forming this week.  Drafts will occur on Wednesday Evening for Pinto and Mustang and Thursday for Bronco.   Pony and Colt are still actively seeking kids to register and making final adjustments to the number of teams.  There is a good chance that Pony and Colt will wait another week to form the teams to allow additional registrations to come in.

After the drafts, you will be contacted by a Coach with further information on the team and practice schedule.  Depending on weather conditions and field availability, your son or daughter could have a scheduled practice on Saturday, 3/5.  It is also possible that you won't start practicing until the week of 3/7.  If you have not received a call or e-mail from a Coach by Sunday afternoon on 3/6, please reply to this e-mail with your contact information.

Time to "PLAY BALL".

See you at the fields!

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Field Work Days - We will schedule field work days for both the Chittum and Bronco Complex for early to middle of March.  Please volunteer to come out and help get the facilities and fields ready for the season.  Please discuss with your Coach what you can do to help us prepare for the season!

Age Determination - Your child plays based on the age that he/she will be on April 30th.

Manager Meetings and Drafts – See above.

Practice Starts – As early as Sat, Mar 5th

Opening Ceremonies (weather Permitting) - TBD

Opening Day - Sat, Apr 2nd

When are Games Played - All of our leagues play games on Saturday.  Depending on the number of teams in each age group, you can expect to also play a game during the week most weeks.  If we have an odd number you may have a Saturday off or a week with no game.  You can expect to practice 2-3 times per week prior to the season and 1 time per week during the season.

Concession Stand Duty - Every family must work a shift or at most two in our concession stand for each child during the spring season.  We generate approximately 25% of our revenue through concession sales and must have your support.

What Equipment Does Your Child Need?

WBAC provides:  a uniform jersey, hat (you keep the jersey and hat), helmets, game balls and catching equipment.

PANTS:  WBAC will not automatically provide pants.  We do have some available for use, but most are buying their own now.  The required pant is a light gray solid.

You will also need:  a glove, cleats and a bat.  Baseball cleats should be worn but are not mandatory. If you are buying a glove, do it now.  You need time to break in a glove.  A used glove is a great option.  For questions about selecting a bat wait and talk with your child’s coach.

Coaches and volunteers needed, especially at younger age groups.  Over 1000 participants in our spring and fall baseball seasons!

See you at the fields!
