School Store and Banquet Update

The team store will re-open tomorrow (Friday) and will close the 25th.  Orders will be at the banquet, which will be June 7th.  More details to follow on banquet.

Varsity Boys Dismantle Mid Valley

Lakeland Boys beat Mid Valley 113-35. Cy Babcanec (100,200,400) and Garth Estadt (High Jump, Long Jump, 300 Hurdles) led the way with 3 individual wins apiece. Mike Arzie (1600,3200) pitched in with 2 wins while Tyler Paulino (800), Stephen Liuzzo (Discus), and Caleb Morgan (110 hurdles) each had 1 individual win. Lakeland also picked up wins in bot the 3200 meter relay (Paulino, Dylan Kovaleski, Nick Setta, John Noldy) and the 1600 meter relay (Collin Cooper, Logan Bednash, Matthew Pidgeon, Babcanec). This capped off the Chiefs 4th undefeated season in a row. Next up Jordan Relays at Scranton Memorial Stadium on Thursday.

Boys Capture Lasagna Invite Title

The varsity boys won the Wyalusing invitational by 30 points on Friday night. Lakeland started off their scoring by winning the 4x800 relay with a team of Tyler Paulino, Nick Setta, Mike Arzie, and Cy Babcanec. Caleb Morgan won the 110 hurdles and Logan Bednash picked up a 6th place. The 4x100 meter team of Paulino, Joe Pidgeon, Tyler Schwartzstrauber and Matt Pidgeon also pitched in with a 6fh place. Collin Cooper picked up a win in the 400 and was helped out by Matt Pidgeon who finished 6th for the Chiefs. The 300 hurdle crew put the CHiefs in the lead for good with a win by Garth Estadt, second place Caleb Morgan and fifth place by Logan Bednash. In the 800, Cy Babcanec picked up the win and Setta finished fifth. Cooper again scored by picking up a second place finish in the 200 and Schwartstrauber finished 8th. In the 3200 poits were scored by Mike Arzie who finished fourth. Garth Estadt picked up second place points in the long jump and the 1600 meter relay capped the scoring with a winning team of Cooper, Estadt, Matt Pidgeon and Babcanec. THe 4x400 relay team has not lost since a 4th place finish at the state championship meet in 2014. Next up, Mid Valley at home on Monday.
Lakeland beat Dunmore 110-40 to clinch a share of the Lackawanna League Division 3 title. Garth Estadt won the Long and high jumps as well as the 300 hurdles and Cy Babcanec chipped in with wins in the 100, 200 and 400. Mike Arzie won the two mile and Collin Cooper took the 800 while Caleb Morgan won the 110 hurdles and Stephen Liuzzo won the discus. Lakeland also swept the relays with wins in the 4x800(Sam Morgan, John Noldy, Tyler Paulino, Nick Setta), 4x100 (Paulino, Joe Pidgeon, Tyler Schwartzstrauber, Matt Pidgeon), and the 4x400 (Joe and Matt Pidgeon, Paulino, Setta). Next up is Wyalusing Lasagna Invitational on Friday April 29th.
