OPRFHS "How to Talk and Support Your Teen" Event

Posted by Jason Fried at Apr 24, 2017 8:31AM PDT

Attached, please find a flyer promoting an event at OPRFHS this Tuesday night, April 25 for parents, on “How to Talk to and Support Your Teen”.

Thanks

I would like to take this time and say congratulations to the Fr A team players and all parents/family for a great season. Parents, your support throughout the season was awesome and greatly appreciated. Thank you for your commitment and time coming out to cheer for our great team. We had a great start and finished strong with a record of 8-6. Our losses came at a tough time as we faced some injuries and saw some success with one of our own getting called up to varsity. This is what the game is all about, you never know what to expect.. Our team will have a team gathering at the school next week and I will be giving the players their lettermen awards. I will send out a teampages once I determine the date , time and location of our team meeting. At the meeting I will also go over what players should do during the off season to get ready for tryouts next year. Once again thank you all for your success and support. If you have any questions, comments or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me. Iponce@oprfhs.org (708)434-3381

Coach Ponce

Hello All Parents and Parents:

Our Bi-Annual fundraiser for the soccer program is going on and will carry through September 8th. Please read the following for all general information on the fundraiser.

All players in the program received 10 discount cards to sell. Each card in its entirety is to be sold for $20. This is a great value since there is about $300 worth of savings on each card (15 local restaurants have teamed up with the OPRF Soccer program to provide discounts at each of their places of business). The goal is for each player to sell all 10 of their discount cards totalling $200. Today at our program meetings we did explain to the players that we do not want them going door to door though and should only sell these to friends and family.

Some general information about the cards and fundraiser

Runs 8/24 to 9/8
Each Card in its entirety with all 15 restaurants is to be sold for $20
Each restaurant provided 4 coupons that expire 3/1/17. People will need to turn the coupon in when they use it so once a coupon is used you cannot use it again
We can take cash or check (we prefer cash though). Checks should be made out to “OPRFHS Soccer”
If a player sells 10 cards we will provide them with a long sleeve huskie dri-fit. If a player chooses to sell more than 10, for every 5 more cards they sell they can pick out another piece of gear that we have.
If a player does not sell all 10 cards they are required to turn back in the cards they do not sell. If they lose these cards they will be held responsible for the cost. I can not emphasize enough that these cards should not be given away and the players need to take precautions to not lose them.
When students are done selling their cards they are to turn their money into their levels coach.
I thank everyone for their help with this. This is our main fundraiser and if successful we only need to fundraise every other year. The money we profit from this 100% goes back to the players and our program. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact Coach Fried or your levels coach.

Thank you for your support.
