News and Announcements

Hello All Soccer Families:

We have a great week of soccer coming up and ending with our soccer social and Fenwick Game this upcoming weekend. This is just a reminder that this upcoming Friday, September 22nd, is our Soccer Social at Skrine Chops (7230 w. Madison St.) in Forest Park. We have the top floor rented out. It will go from 6:30 to 9. We only sell our discount cards every other year so this will be our only fundraiser of the year. On off years for fundraising the social costs $40 per person. This will include appetizers/entree samples and door gifts. We will be doing a raffle for all sorts of prizes as well. There will also be a cash bar as in the past.

I hope to see all the parents of all levels out this Friday. It is a great way to have an adult night out and for the parents to get to know each other better and get to know the coaches in the program. It is a really fun night and I thank all of you for your support. The whole coaching staff really appreciates it.

Also, this Saturday we will have our crosstown games against Fenwick . Freshman A will play them at 9:30 at the Priory. Sophomores will play at 11 at the Priory. Then the Varsity game will be at 1pm in the Stadium at OPRF. There is no charge to enter the game but we will have Housing Forward at the gate taking donations to help support their program. I have attached a link if you are interested to knowing more about this program. http://www.housingforward.org/

If you are free I highly encourage you coming out to support the teams, they are a lot of fun to watch and this is a great rivalry. A lot of families in the community come out to the varsity game , and should make for a fun afternoon.

I thank you all for your support and if you have any questions please let me know.
Coach Fried

Hello Huskie Soccer Players and Families:

We are one week into the season and we have seen a lot of success already. The sophomore and Varsity levels both won the Leyden Invite (3 game series with Leyden, Larkin and Riverside Brookfield) this year. Sophomores went 3 and 0 and Varsity went 2 and 1. This is back to back years for varsity which is a great accomplishment. Also, below is a link to a news article that was written about our conference and Huskie Soccer.

Have a great weekend

Hello all parents and players:

Now that we are just under a month till tryouts I wanted to send out some reminder information.

All this information was provided to the players as well at camp this past week.

For a player to tryout for soccer they must have the following completed;
1. Have an up to date physical on file with the school. . They must have a sports physical (must be updated every year) completed and turned into the AD’s office. There are many Walk-in options for Sports physicals in town. A list of of these can be picked up at the Athletic Department at the high school. Sport physical forms were handed out at camp .

2. A participation form filled out and turned in by hand to the Athletic Department Office. These forms are available at the AD’s office, have been distributed during camp and can be found online at the OPRF website under the athletics section.

If these 2 requirements are not completed prior to tryouts they will not be able to attend tryouts. Please note that the participation form and sports physical must be turned in by hand together to the AD’s office.

As for tryout schedule and further information on what you need for tryouts you can find this outside the AD’s office. Soccer is the green sheet. This was also handed out at camp. I also posted this sheet at www.oprfsoccer.org and it can be found under the documents section. It is named “2017 Boys Tryout Schedule and Criteria”.

Lastly, mid next week I will also post a 2017 tryout plan at the above website under the document section. I highly encourage the players to look through this so they have an idea of what each day of tryouts consist of.

I hope this information is helpful and I look forward to seeing everyone in August.

Hello All:

I am sorry for any confusion but our webpage provider is having technical difficulties with links at the moment, so they seem to be working at times and not at others. I have attached the tryout schedule and criteria under the documents section at the bottom of the main page on oprfsoccer.org.

Thanks
Coach Fried
