Minor A, Knights 2, Mud Hens 7, 3/31/12

Mud Hens came out swinging on Saturday morning. Both Thomas Williams and Zack Pratte hit triples early in the game giving the Mud Hens a 5-0 lead by the top of the third. Knights start a come back and score 2 runs but solid defense shuts the door. Zander Fletcher catches a huge pop fly and more solid defense from Bruno Stenzel who stopped a big hit to left field, relaying it quickly back to Reilly Kells to hold the Knights from scoring any more runs. Paul Crocker steals home in the 4th to get the excitement going again for the Mud Hens with the score now 6 to 2. Solid pitching from Jag Burden, Chance DiMarco and Thomas Williams stop the Knights and allow the Mud Hens to take the win 7 to 2.

Majors, Orioles 5, Cardinals 4 3/24/12

Lots of exciting action in this game. Orioles started the game with hits by Brad Monroe, Kelan Long and Grant Brehm, but the Cardinals kept them from scoring. The Cardinals finished the inning with Zeke Ziegler scoring on a passed ball and an RBI by Cory Nicholson scoring J. Stout, ending the inning 2-0. Great pitching and defense by both teams takes us to the third inning with Danny Duarte’s big double, followed by another big double by Jake Volo, scoring Duarte. Jason Roe of the Cardinals came back with a big double followed by a single by Chase Stewart and the inning ended with Jason Roe stealing home. Brehm gets the Orioles going in the 4th with a single, followed by Ryan Welander’s single and then both of them scoring on Elijah Blake’s big triple. Seth Knorr with a single, scores Blake, followed by singles by Duarte and Jacob Bonillas’ RBI single that scored Knorr bringing the score to 5-3. Great defense by both teams takes the game to the 6th inning when Jason Roe hit his second double of the game and scored the last run for the Cardinals off an RBI double by Ziegler. But it wasn't enough to beat the Orioles. Orioles were victorious with a final score 5-4.
