05/11/11 Minor B Division:   Mets 10 vs. Mudcats 12

by:  Laurie Skorheim

Great baseball between the Minor B Mets and Mudcats on Wednesday night at OVLL. Mets started off strong with Tristan Kennedy pitching allowing no runs for the Mudcats in the first inning. Mets got on base and Nate Skorheim found himself playing pickle only to steal home in the end, followed by Lucas Pantel with another steal to home. Mets score  2 going into the second inning. Kennedy still pitching for the Mets along with aggressive defense again don't allow any runs for the Mudcats.  Eddie Chiu hits a big one, followed by Sean Headley and then Kai Nakamura with the RBI.  Jimmy Campbell stole home to bring the score up to 7 for the Mets.  But, the Mudcats Alec Muirhead started a rally hitting it to the fence in the third bringing home two runners. The fifth inning, Mets take the lead again with a RBI by Jimmy Campbell. But, the Mudcats were ready and came back to win the game by two.

Game 1-OVLL Playoffs: 05/14/11 Minor B Division:  Mets 5 vs. Lookouts 10
By:  Laurie Skorheim

It was the first round of tournament play for the Minor B Mets on Saturday playing the Lookouts. There were 22 stolen bases by the Mets, Jimmy Campbell taking 6 of those, both Nathan Skorheim and Edison Chui had RBI's and were able to steal home. Pitching for the Mets on Saturday was, Tristan Kennedy, Nathan Skorheim and Lucas Pantel, pitching 116 pitches total with 9 total strike outs. The Lookouts were leading 10 to 1 in the 5th inning. Jimmy Campbell caught a pop fly for the second out, followed by an out at home, with an assist from Lucas Pantel to stop the runner from scoring. Bottom of the 5th, Mets started a rally with a few good singles bringing the score to 10 to 5. But no further runs would give the win to the Lookouts who played a great game!

5/14/11 Farm Division:  Sun Devils vs. Waves (no score kept)

by:  Kevin Carlin

The Sun Devils and Waves met for the 2nd time this season, and it was an impressive show.  For the Waves, Max Milo made a great play at 3rd base, while Tyler Mangold made an unassisted double play at first.  For the Sun Devils, both Kyle Palmer and Roman Cianca had long drives for doubles, and Sean Carlin and Jaylene Duarte made several nice plays in the field.

Home Run Heroes for 2011

Posted by Ken Deleske at May 11, 2011 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )

Sunday, March 27th

Do you believe in genetics? You don't have to go to MIT to find an answer to that question. Just ask a coach at OVLL, because they know that if Marcus Mayorga can hit one over, Jason can probably do the same, and if Jason is hitting them out of the park, Daniel can certainly follow their lead. Trevor and Brandon Windisch have an inside homerun derby going on between each other. Is it any surprise that one of last years' All Star heroes, "Mondo Duarte," is being shadowed by brother Daniel Duarte. Last but not least, let's remember the Meyer Brothers that hit homeruns on the same team, at the same game, on the same day just last year.
