Minor C/Grasshoppers v. Bees 3/12/12

Posted by Bill Church at Mar 19, 2012 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
The epic clash between the Grasshoppers and Bees left fans from both teams buzzing as they left the field Monday night.

The Grasshoppers jumped on the Bees early, with big hits by Evan Kalamian, Dillin Siembieda, and Luke Kumaric.   But the Bees battled back bravely behind big hits from Kaden Chase and Kyle Palmer.  Both teams made some great plays in the field, and Matthew Aguirre was awarded game ball for the Bees because of his great plays in the field and solid hitting.  An awesome display of baseball and good sportsmanship from both teams, a great way to get the season started.

River Cats drop 6-3 game

Minor A Division

River Cats v. Express

River Cats fell to Express 6-3 in six innings on Thursday 3/14/12 at OVLL Minor A Field.

Minor A Division: Bats 2, Mud Hens 1

Posted by Bill Church at Mar 5, 2012 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )

First game of the season for the Mud Hens proved to be exciting as they went up against the Bats. Mud Hens came out swinging with a double by Thomas Williams. Zachary Pratte hits a solid single to send Williams home to score. The Bats come back hard with some great hits but the Mud Hens' defense is strong. Both Pratte and Reilly Kells catch pop flies making the first two outs look easy. Jag Burden proves to be an ace pitcher as he strikes out the 3rd batter to end the inning quickly. Bottom of the second, the Bats score tying things up. Chance DiMarco takes his turn on the mound, quickly striking out three batters. However, the tide turned to the Bats in the bottom of the fourth. Alec Muirhead hits an RBI to give them the lead. Mud Hens give it their all. Both Nick Skorheim & Paul Crocker hit singles during the fifth, but the Bats were ready and made the outs. In the end, the Bats prevailed 2 to 1 in an amazing first game fight.
