Spring/Summer 2011 - Important Dates

Italian Center Swim Club - Orca's

All the snow have you planning for next Spring & Summer?

Read on for Important ICSC Dates :

  • Last Swim Practice of this season is on Friday, March 4th :
        Pre - Orca, Bronze & Silver teams 4 - 4:45pm     followed by pizza party in Rose Room.
        Blue, Gold & Senior teams 5 - 6:15pm     followed by pizza party in Rose Room.
  • Stroke Clinic Registration - March 28th 4-5pm.
        We encourage all swimmers to participate!
  • Teams 'Celebration of the Season' party - Friday, April 1st.
        Invitations to follow.
  • Stroke Clinic - April 4th - May 6th
       Please note, there will be no practices during Spring break on Apr. 18th, 20th and 22nd.

  • Spring/Summer Season Registration:
        Returning swimmers - Wed. March 30th 4:45-6pm.
        New swimmers try-outs - Mon. May 2nd 4:45- 6pm

  • Spring Season starts - Monday, May 9th - June 24

  • Summer Season starts - Monday, June 24 - end of July 
        Please note, during Summer Season only Italian Center members can participate.

  • Athletes must have swum in one regularly scheduled 2010-2011 CSI meet in the 2010/11 short course season.

  • Entry time must equal or better time standard for the event & swum since January 1, 2010.

  • Swimmer’s age is as of March 10, 2011

  • Daylight Saving Time will go into effect on Sunday of the meet.

  • The entry deadline is Tuesday March 1, 2011 at 11:00 PM

  • Outreach Athlete policy is in effect.

ICSC has been assigned to the New Canaan YMCA Regionals meet !

WHAT: CT Regional Championship

WHERE: New Canaan YMCA (564 South Ave. New Canaan, CT 06840) 

WHEN: Friday, Feb. 25th / Saturday Feb. 26th / Sunday, Feb. 27th

WARM UP TIMES: 

Friday -  5PM (ONLY Claire D., Emily D., Francesca D., Rebecca S.)

Saturday and Sunday-

12&Under Girls and 13&Over Boys 7:30AM

12&Under Boys and 13&Over Girls 1:00PM

***Please be on the pool deck 15min prior to the warm up***

TIMERS: One Timer needed Saturday AM & PM, also Sunday AM

*** Entry Prep - please check carefully! ***

  • Swimmers age 8 to 18 may enter 8 individual events and swim 7.
    A maximum of 2 events may be entered on Friday, 3 events on Saturday, and 3 events on Sunday.

  • Swimmers may not enter an event if qualified (Yds, LCM or SCM) for Age Group Champs (see Max Time Standards)

    •
  • Events must not be swum for the first time at this meet.

  • Outreach Athlete policy is in effect.

  • "Championship birthday" athletes should alert their coach regarding their entry.

  • Athletes must have swum in one regularly-scheduled 2010-2011 CSI meet for the short course season.

  • Entry deadline is NOON on Tuesday, February 15, 2011.

  SESSION TIMES: Saturday

Session I – 9/10 Girls and Boys: Warm-up: 800am
Meet Start: 900am
Session II - 11/12 Girls and Boys: Warm-up: 100pm
Meet Start: 200pm

During this session our team will have to provide 1 timer.



Session III – 13/14 Girls and Boys: Warm-up: 730am
Meet Start: 845am
Session IV – 15/O Girls and Boys: Warm-up: 100pm
Meet Start: 215pm

                       

***Please be on the pool deck 15 minutes prior to the warm up.***

 

 

REMINDER : OTHER - IMPORTANT - MEET INFO: 

NO folding chairs will be allowed on deck!
 
There may be some folding chairs on deck but due to the size of the meet, the extra folding chairs would cause a safety hazard. 

Portion of the stands will be available for the swimmers to help offset on deck crowding.

Parking is best in the municipal lot behind the Y and across the street.
