We Need Your Help
“Finding the Saracino’s Rainbow”
Please take a minute to read this letter written on behalf The Saracino Family. Many of you know them, and some do not, but we ask that you please read this. Lisa (Loschiavo) Saracino is a life-long resident of New Milford and an alumnus of the New Milford High School, Class of 1984. She lives in town with her husband Tommy, and their son Gianni, a freshman at New Milford High School.
The Saracinos are, and have been, huge supporters of numerous organizations in New Milford. Lisa volunteered for years in our snack stand, as a team mom and a dedicated volunteer with New Milford Little League. In addition, they have donated time, resources and money to Gibbs PTO, Middle School PTO, High School PTO, Boy Scouts, Junior Football and Cheerleading, and many other causes. They have always been, and still are, eager to pitch in and lend a helping hand whenever needed.
Now, the Saracinos find themselves in need of help from their friends in the community. You might not be aware that Lisa and Tommy are fighting serious health issues, which have prevented them from working.
Understandably, Tommy and Lisa have been very private about the serious health issues and financial burdens they are facing. Briefly, Lisa has been battling breast cancer for the past 18 months and recently the cancer moved to her brain. Fortunately, the doctors were able to isolate and remove the cancer from her brain but the procedure has affected her eyesight. Tommy is a heart transplant recipient and has had complications over the past few years, most recently, suffering kidney failure, requiring dialysis three times a week.
Neither Tommy nor Lisa are currently able to work. Fortunately, they do have health insurance, but the monthly premiums, which they pay for out of pocket, are extremely expensive. Added to the cost of the premiums is the cost of copays, weekly trips to the city for Lisa’s treatment, tolls, parking and numerous other expenses associated with treating their illnesses. It’s easy to see how financially overwhelming the past 18 months have been to their family.
We are reaching out to you, in the hope that you will be able to help a New Milford family in need, by making a donation to off set the overwhelming financial burdens they are facing. We also ask that you keep their family in your prayers.
This brings me to the title of this letter, “Finding the Saracino’s Rainbow.” If you weren’t aware, Sunday, April 3rd is “Find A Rainbow Day”. Let’s find a rainbow for the Saracino family.
Please join us any time between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM at the Clubhouse located adjacent to the Senior League's LaBarbera Field, next to the DPW to make a monetary donation. On behalf of the Saracinos, WE THANK YOU!
