CT/R - Orioles

Signups for the 2005 Season are scheduled for every Thursday evening (6-8 pm) and Saturday (10 am - 2 pm) in February, beginning Thursday, February 3rd, 2005. Sign-up location is at the Ranson Parks and Rec building next to, and south of, Southern States in Ranson. ALL players are asked to bring an original birth certificate, 3 proofs of address, and medical/dental information. Fees are $35 for the first child, $10 for each additional child. Registrations will also be held on the tryout dates below. Players age 9 through 12 who are not members of a Major League Team will need to tryout. Players who are moving into, or who are new to, the Junior (13-14 year olds), Senior (15-16 year olds), or Big (17-18 year olds) League Divisions will also need to tryout. Tryouts are scheduled at Sam Michael's Park on March 5th and 6th, 2005, with March 12 & 13th as rain dates. Players must tryout on one of the two dates in order to be placed on a team and to qualify for All Star selection. Those who cannot attend need to inform the Player Agent prior to the tryout dates. CTR is sponsoring two Girls Softball Clinical Practices on the Sam Michael's Fields. The Practices are open to all girls ages 9 to 15. and include two Saturday classes on September 6th and 13th, with two times available: 9 a.m. to noon or 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Pitching, hitting, base running and fielding will be covered. The cost is $30 for both days; $15 for one day. If you are interested, call Cindy Mangold at 725-8291.

Charles Town Ranson Little League will hold its annual meeting at 7 p.m. on Monday, September 15th at the Ranson Parks office (next to Southern States)for the purpose of electing a 15 member Board of Directors for the coming year. Nominees this year must be present to be elected, and need to complete a volunteer form with an approved background check as prescribed by Williamsport. We would like to have non-coaching volunteers because they already contribute a great deal of time coaching; but any adult is welcome. The newly elected board in September will then elect officers from among its number. These are the office positions we would like to fill: President, Vice- President, Secretary, Treasurer, Player Agent, Safety Officer, Information Officer, Coaching Coordinator, Umpire Coordinator, Equipment Coordinator and 5 Vice Presidents of: Tee Ball, Minor League, Major League, Softball (all divisions), Jr/Sr League, and one additional position not yet specified. In addition, we are asking people to fill Committee positions: By-Laws and Rules Committee, Fund Raising Committee , Concession Stand, Field Maintenance Committee.
