Tee Ball Managers and Coaches

Posted by Mark Carpenter at Mar 1, 2006 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )
We have excellent numbers of kids signing up for Tee Ball. This is a great chance for the league to grow. We will also need Managers and Coaches to step up and help the kids learn the fundamentals. If you are interested, the league will provide help for first-time and inexperienced coaches on how to run a practice, how to teach the rookies to throw, hit, and catch. You won't be alone, so don't be afraid to step up and get involved!

The field is leveled and seeded. There's lots more to do, but check out the photo album for the pics!! On October 17, 2004, Lee Duranko met with Tim Barr, who is with Jefferson County Parks and Recreation Commission. They discussed the requirements for constructing the Senior League field at Sam Michael’s park. Prior to the meeting, a copy of the agreement between CTRLL and the Commission regarding the field was provided by Tim Barr. You can view a copy of this agreement, which is located at the bottom of this article. Just click on view full size. CTRLL is responsible for arranging all financing and construction. This includes excavation, landscaping (grass), fencing, dugouts, labor, and material. The commission is only responsible for oversight of all aspects of construction including obtaining permits, surveying, excavation, seeding, fence installation, dugout construction, storage facility, etc. Tim Barr was excited about working with the new board. Although he is not required to assist CTRLL in constructing the field, he is going to help us. CTRLL is currently in negotiations with a local contractor to do the excavating. However, they wanted us to obtain all the permits required before they will do any work. Tim Barr stated that no permits are needed for the excavating and he would provide us with a letter if needed. Permits will be needed if we plan on constructing dugouts. The board recently discussed installing fenced dugouts, because of funding and time restraints. Tim Barr will check with the Commission and does not feel this will be a problem. Tim Barr is also going to check to see if a permit is needed for the fencing around the field. If a permit is needed CTRLL will obtain this permit. We do not plan on installing a fence until spring, so this will give us some time if one is needed. Be sure to check this web site often as we will be posting the progress of the Senior League Field. If all goes as planned, we will have it ready for the 2006 season. ********************************UPDATE 10-19-05*********************************************** This week Lee Duranko, Robert Richard, Mickey Johnson, Tim Barr, and a local contractor will meet at Sam Michaels Park to look over the Senior League Field. The purpose of the meeting is to show the contractor what needs to be done. Check back to read about the progress made in this meeting. **********************************************************************************************
