Post Season Notes...Sittig in spotlight
(Canfield, Oh) Canfield Varsity Hockey Head Coach Randy Emery announced that junior, Scott Sittig, has been named captain for next season. Emery says, "Scott's leadership is shown on and off the ice. He has a purpose every time he steps out there and plays with controlled aggressiveness. Scott is the leader for this team, and I know his teammates agree. Sittig just started playing hockey in his freshman year at the developmental level. In his sophomore year he made himself noticed for his unrelenting hustle especially on the forecheck." Sittig was third on the team this year with 14 goals, second with 16 assists, and third in overall scoring with 30 points and just 12 penalty minutes.
This week on Armstrong Cable channel 20's Bottom Line ,Scott Sittig and Coach Emery appear in a pre taped interview last Friday from the foyer of the Canfield High School gymnasium. Sittig discusses his agressive attack on the forecheck and Coach Emery talks about the state of high schoool hockey in the Mahoning Valley. Also appearing are Canfield Athletic Director Greg Cooper, basketball standout Jill Halfhill, cheerleader Gina Gelonese, and football coach Mike Pavlansky.
