Semi-Final Results from Thursday!!!
All of the players were frozen and it definitely was not optimal conditions for field hockey. Pioneer defeated GPS 4-1 and Huron edged out Marian 2-1. So, we'll be watching Pioneer and Huron battle for the title Saturday afternoon.

Congrats to Liggett for the 1-0 win over the Whippets.
Sacred Heart opens playoffs with win
Bloomfield Hills Academy of the Sacred Heart beat Farmington Hills Mercy 2-1 in a shootout on Oct. 26. Alaina Mezwa and Caity Schram scored for Sacred Heart (8-3-3). Maggie Silvai scored for Mercy.
Huron advances to quarterfinals in field hockey
In a 4-0 victory over Dearborn, Lisa Masini scored two goals for the River Rats. Kit Masini and Elizabeth Armstrong also scored for Huron (13-1-1).
Cranbrook beats DCD 5-2 in the rain. South wins in overtime. Greenhills over GPN 3-0.
The Pioneer High School field hockey team played like a team worthy of its No. 1 seed in the first round of the state playoffs Wednesday. Sophomore Katelynn Spaid scored three goals to lead the host Pioneers (16-0-2) to a 10-0 victory over No. 16 seed East Grand Rapids.

Pioneer 5, Liggett 1. Janna Robinson scored 2 for Pioneer, Julie Stackmann one for Liggett.
Huron beat Ash 7-0
Marian defeated Cranbrook 3-0.
Goals scored by Alex Rodriquez (1), and Sarah Chrustowski (2)
Assists by Mimi Howlett (1), and Libby Liesveld (1), and Jen Copus (1)
Anna Fennessy had 6 saves
Grosse Pointe South beat Green Hills 2-1.
An early lead wasn't enough to help the Greenhills School field hockey team Tuesday. In a state quarterfinal game at Huron High School's Riverbank Stadium, Grosse Pointe South rallied from an early 1-0 deficit to beat the Gryphons 2-1. Five minutes into the game, Greenhills' Miranda Dershimer scored on a Marcia Silveira assist. But at the game's 10 and 20 minute mark, South notched a pair of goals on two defensive miscues.
