February 2017 Baseball Clinics

You must be registered in the Beverly Hills Little League for the 2017 Season

Thursday, February 23 1:30 pm – 3:30 pm CATCHER’S CLINIC with Groves Assistant Head Coach Jerry Brown, former Catcher’s Coach at Eastern Michigan University
All three days are at the GUTS Training Facility Located at 1008 Orchard Street - Ferndale Wear gym shoes (no cleats) and bring your glove or catcher’s mitt.

Register now for Fielding, Hitting and Pitching clinics for baseball players ages 9, 10, 11, and 12. The clinics will be run by Groves High School Varsity Baseball Head Coach, Shawn Morrison.

Divisions Available in 2017
T-Ball (Ages 4-6)
Age as of 12/31/2016 for 4 year olds and 08/31/2017 for 5 and 6 year olds.
Open to boys and girls. Players learn the fundamentals of baseball using softer than usual baseballs and a tee for hitting. The games are three innings long or one hour and all players field and bat. No Scores or Standings are kept.
Coaches usually have one practice during the week on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday at either 5:30 PM or 6:30 PM and one practice on Saturday morning. Practices will begin once we can get on the fields, usually middle of April and will stop once the season starts. Games will start Monday May 1st and the season will end before summer vacation starts for Birmingham Public Schools, which is June 16th 2017.
One game will be played during the week (Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday) and one game on Saturday morning.
All weekday games start at 6 PM and will run for no more than an hour or 3 innings whichever comes first. Saturday games are at 9:30 AM, 11 AM, or 1 PM. Games and practices will be held on the baseball fields behind Bingham Farms Elementary.
Youth Baseball (Ages 7-8)
Age as of 08/31/2017
The Youth Division is designed primarily for 7 & 8 year-olds (1st & 2nd grade) or 6 year-olds who have already completed two seasons of T-ball. Youth baseball focuses on fundamental skill development and understanding of rules of the game. Coaches pitch to their own team throughout the game. Each inning ends once the defensive team records three outs or after every offensive team player bats.Games are a minimum of 3 innings long, with a maximum length of 1hr 15min. No scores or standings are kept.
Practices will start in mid-April up to 2 times per week. Games begin in early May and run through mid-June. Once the season begins, there are typically 2 games scheduled per week and additional practice time available at the coach's discretion. Mid-week game times are 6:30pm, and Saturday games are mid-late morning. Practices and games are held at Greenfield and Beverly Elementary School fields. Some games may also be scheduled at Beverly Park if fields are available.
Minors Baseball (Ages 9-10)
Age as of 08/31/2017
The first year of kid pitch baseball. The teams will use a pitching machine for the first four games of the season and will eventually transition to all kid pitch games.
Minors will play a 12 game schedule and will play all of their games on Monday and Wednesday at Beverly Park or Berkshire Middle School with a 6:30 pm start. Practices will begin in March after the teams are formed through a player draft. All Minors players are required to attend evaluations in early March. Teams will practice on Saturday once the season begins.
Majors Baseball (Ages 11-12)
Player is 11 before or on 08/31/2017
Player is 12 before or on 04/30/2017
Majors will play a 12 game schedule and will play all of their games on Tuesday and Thursday at Beverly Park or Berkshire Middle School with a 6:30 pm start. Practices will begin in March after the teams are formed through a player draft. All Majors players are required to attend evaluations in early March. Teams will practice on Saturday once the season begins.
Intermediate Baseball (Age 13)
Age as of 04/30/2017
A new division in 2017! This team will play other Little League teams from Birmingham, Commerce, Holly, Rochester Hills and Waterford. There will be a 14 game season and we expect to host 7 games at our home field at Beverly Park while traveling to the other away games. We will only form one team in 2017. Registration will close once the roster is full. Register early!
Minors Softball (Girls Grades 1-3)
