It’s that time of the year again, to register for the 2024 PALOS STARS JUNIOR FOOTBALL &
CHEERLEADING PROGRAM.
Boys and girls ages 6 through 14 years old (but not in high school) may sign
up to be a member of the Finest Football Program in the Southwest Suburbs for 51 years.

HISTORY – The Palos Stars organization is a private, non-profit program founded in 1972 and has provided thousands of
our community’s boys and girls an opportunity to play organized junior football and cheerleading. We are members of
the Southwest Midget Football League and compete against some of the best youth football programs in the state; such
as, New Lenox, Oak Lawn, Evergreen Park, South Holland, Mid-Crest, Dolton, Oak Forest, Burbank, Crete and Tinley Park Bobcats.
Approximately 90% of our players go on to play high school football as our players are heavily scouted by surrounding
catholic and public high schools.

DATE & TIME – Saturday, February 3, 2024 – 10:00 am – 2:00 pm

BOUNDARIES – Our football and cheerleading program services the following communities: Palos Hills, Palos
Heights, Palos Park, Orland Park, Chicago Ridge, Bridgeview, Alsip, Worth, Justice, Summit, Hickory Hills and Willow
Springs. If in doubt whether you live in our boundaries, please call.
REGISTRATION FEES – Early registration is $300. Minimum at registration is $150 and is non�refundable. The remainder can be paid at equipment pick-up (the last week of July). Starting June
1, 2024 the registration fee will be $400. So register early!

Registration fee includes: first mouthpiece, (1) pair of game socks, personalized game jersey, insurance, team and individual
pictures, awards banquet ticket including award, plus the use of the finest equipment money can buy. Cheerleaders receive spankies,
body suit, socks, insurance, pictures, awards banquet and award, plus use of the equipment for cheering. We also require each
family to participate with a 6-hour volunteer work commitment during the season. (Work Commitment is $100 per family)
MANDATORY FUNDRAISER – $120/per child for one book of 12 raffle tickets at $10 per ticket.
AGE/WEIGHT RESTRICTIONS – In addition to qualified, trained coaches, strict age/weight restrictions
enable us to help keep the Palos Stars safe for our kids while teaching them the correct fundamentals of
football and cheerleading as well as valuable life lessons.

5-7 years old – Mighty Mites
8-9 years old – Widgets
10-11 years old – Pee Wees
12-13 years old – Jr. Varsity
12-14 years old (not in high school) – Varsity

Our program plays a 10 game season, including pre-season and post season games. Games are usually played on Saturdays.
The Varsity has an opportunity to travel over Thanksgiving weekend for a National Tournament. Location will be
announced at the end of the football season.

  • Varsity (up to 215 lbs + Stripers) ages 11 and up Monday, July 25th 6:00pm – 8:00pm

*Jr. Varsity (up to 135 lbs) ages 10, 11, 12. Tuesday, July 26th 6:00pm – 8:00pm

*Pee Wees (up to 120 lbs) ages 9, 10, 11 Wednesday, July 27th 6:00pm – 8:00pm

  • Widgets (up to 107 lbs + Stripers) ages 7, 8, 9 Thursday, July 28th 6:00pm – 8:00pm

If you are NOT Registered, you can do so on Equipment Pick-Up

IMPORTANT : Birth certificate for new players (please bring on equipment pick-up day)
and sports physical are required to play.

REMINDER: A parent or an adult MUST accompany their child in order for equipment to be issued. No equipment can be issued until all fees are paid. Registration Fee is a total of $200 if registered prior to 6/30/22 and $225 if registered on or after 7/1/22. Raffle tickets totaling $120 per child will be issued and paid for at equipment pickup. You will have a number of weeks to sell these raffle tickets and then ALL the money collected will be yours to keep. The last item will be $100 for the Work Commitment, which will be cashed. This will be returned to you at the end of the season as long as you have completed your 6 hours of volunteer work and all equipment is returned.

It is important that players come on the appropriate day listed above for equipment purposes. However, if for some reason you can’t make your day, please come toward the end of another night. If you will not be available during equipment pickup week, all fees and equipment will be handled on Monday, August 1st.

+PLEASE NOTE: ONLY MOLDED SPIKES ARE ALLOWED! NO METAL OR SCREW-IN SPIKES ALLOWED!!
You will also need to purchase your child a girdle. Those will be available at the time of equipment pick-up or you can purchase through Don’s World of Sports in Palos Hills.

PRACTICE SCHEDULE
Starting Monday, August 1st Football practice days & times are as follows:
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 6:00pm – 8:00pm

Starting week of August 15th practice will be held as follows:
Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 6:00pm – 8:00pm

Cheerleaders will start practice on
Wednesday, August 3rd from 6pm – 8pm

Palos Stars Football and Cheerleading are excited to be entering our 50th season! We serve the Palos Heights, Palos Park, Palos Hills, Alsip, Worth, Burbank, Chicago Ridge, Bridgeview, Justice, Summit, Hickory Hills, Willow Springs and Orland Park areas.

The goal of the Palos Stars association is to provide a positive environment for the youth of our communities by providing a quality youth football and cheerleading program where players can learn and develop fundamentals, skills, teamwork and good sportsmanship. The lessons that they learn do not just apply to what happens on the field or at cheer competitions, but to many challenges that they face in school and life. With a commitment to safety, teamwork, and education, our program produces some of the most awarded individuals. A few of those previous players are even back with us to coach their own kids now.

As a 100% non-profit, volunteer organization, we depend greatly on the generous donations of our corporate sponsors. This helps us keep the registration costs low for our families and provides us funds to develop and maintain our football field and practice area at George Cuevas Park in Palos Hills. Our field has a prime location on Southwest Highway, just across from the Palos Heights metra train station, with plenty of daily traffic on top of the numerous families that come to the field for practices and games.

This year, we are in even greater need of financial support due to our deteriorating concession stand. It needs a full rebuild and is an integral piece our of program. Our home games are full day events with hundreds of people from ours and neighboring communities in attendance and feeding the masses is a must. New sponsorship levels are being added this year to include prominent placement of our thanks to your support.
