News and Announcements

With a new coach and a new attitude toward competition at Hendersonville, you might think that our rivalry with their school would tone down some.  And while I think it has, there is still a huge desire on the part of both of these schools to defeat the other!

Our guys had a big challenge from their boys, but pulled away near the end of game 3 to take the win 18-9 with pinfall at 3385-3251.  Our boys started off well in game 1, winning 6 of 8 points with an 1131-1057 total.   Game 2 saw the opposite occur, as HHS took 6 points with a 1121-1099 game.  Our boys stepped up enough in game 3 to take 7 points and the victory 1155-1073.  John Petty led our guys this time with a nice 633 series (221-215 games), while Spencer Harp had high game with a 227 (621).  Chris Branner also had a 211 game.

The LadyCats were most definitely fired up for their match, and it showed as they stormed out to an 8-0 lead after game 1, winning 1029-900.  While the next two games were a little closer, we still prevailed to take the 21-6 victory, with pinfall totals 3213-2967.  Laurel Everett was on fire this time, leading us in game & series with a nice 234-625.  Way to go, Laurel!  And Sr. Kirstin Page finally rolled like we know she can with a nice 226-611 total.  Brittany Sisco also had a 210 in game 1.  Nice bowling, LadyCats!

Fall Bash Results

Our 2nd trip to Savannah, TN to roll against 3 other good programs in the FALL BASH was a success again, as both teams went 2-1 for the day.  Not the perfect sweep as we were hoping and planning for, but good nonetheless.  It is really difficult to best the Hardin County teams in their own house, as both teams suffered their first defeat of the season in Match #1.  The LadyCats were close, but lost in the end 10.5-16.5, while the boys were down from the outset and never could catch up in losing 7-20.  Match #2 vs. White Station from Memphis was the boost our players needed to get back in the win column, with an 18-9 win for the boys and a 20.5-6.5 victory for the girls.  Match #3 vs. Hendersonville saw a few of our boys struggle to help make the match a little closer than it probably should have been, but still prevail in a 18-9 win.  And the LadyCats geared up for another match vs. the Lady Commandos, and fired a nice 3213 total to win easily 21-6.  Here are summaries for each match:

Even with the huge success of our school teams in recent years, we have never done one thing...have a "perfect" season with no losses.  And that won't happen this year either, as our first Bash match vs. host Hardin County ended with losses for both teams.  The LadyCats got off to a nice start with a 6-2 win in game 1, but barely winning 1055-1043.  In game 2 the Lady Tigers took control of the match by winning 1137-1000 and taking 6.5 points.  Still only down 1 point going into game 3, our ladies did roll their best game of the set with a 1068, but fell by 4 pins to their 1072 and only won 3 of the 6 individual points.  Final score for the ladies 10.5-16.5, with pin totals 3123-3252.  Dani Chaffin led our girls with a steady good 214-606 total, while Laurel Everett tied her for high game with 214.

The Wildcats were not far out of the match in total pins for games 1 & 2, as they only lost by 29 & 33 pins those games.  But with a 5-11 score after two in points, they needed a huge win in game 3.  And the reverse happened, as Hardin Co rolled a nice 1273 to take the win.  Chris Branner led our guys with a 226-617 total, and Kyle Hubbuch had high game with a 241 (616).  Eric Lane had a 218, and Jr. Brett Miler came in for game 3 and rolled a 212.  Final score 7-20 and pinfall 3496-3659.

Central teams both win over Antioch

Posted by Mark Hubbuch at Oct 13, 2010 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
The Central teams had an expected sweep over Antioch today at Smyrna Bowling Center.  Both teams had the match won after 2 games, so our boys bench got their first real action of the young season.  They came in and did a good job, too, as the final score for the guys was 24-3, and the LadyCats did another 27-0 sweep!  The girls really struggled to find a good line on the extremely dry Smyrna lanes, but Sr. Dani Chaffin hung in there the best to pull out a nice 202 in game 3.  Great perseverance, Ms. Chaffin!  The boys were fairly steady in games 1 & 2, as 5 of our 6 starters rolled over 200, with Eric Lane again leading the way with a 231 & 211.  Spencer Harp had 218 & 216; Kyle Hubbuch a 215; John Petty a 205; Chris Branner a 202; and So. Bobby Davidson nearly had one with his 197 in game 3.  Nice win, 'Cats!  Both teams move to 4-0 on the season.  Next up this coming weekend is the FALL BASH in Savannah...real tests for our teams.  Good Luck, bowlers!!

The Lebanon Blue Devils brought back nearly every starter from last year's team, and Coach knew that they would be tough competition for our boys.  And this match definitely didn't disappoint, as our guys came from behind in games 2 & 3 again to win, this time by a final of 18-9.  Game 1 saw our boys struggle mightily on the Pro Bowl lanes, only mustering a 1025 to Lebanon's 1156.  Down 2-6, our boys started slow again in game 2, but about the 5th frame started to find the line, and finished with a huge flurry of strikes to win 1137-1057, taking 7 of 8 points.  Up 9-7 in points, but down 51 pins heading into game 3, the 'Cats simply couldn't keep up the first five frames (again).  But just as it looked like the Devils would pull away, they started missing and we started hitting!  Eric Lane finished with 7 out of 8 strikes to roll a 224, and several other boys doubled in the 9th and 10th frames to pull out the win!  Final pinfall totals were 3254-3229...another thrilling, last-second victory for these boys.  Eric led the team again today with a 583 series.  Other good scores:  Seth Carey with a 235, Spencer Harp a 204, and John Petty and Kyle Hubbuch with 202 games.  GREAT win, Wildcats!

The LadyCats had another easy district win today, as they rolled over the Blue Devilettes 23-4.  Pinfall totals were 2961-2395.  Sr. Dani Chaffin broke out today with a great 204-247 in games 1 & 2, and finished with a 627 series to lead all Central bowlers today...nice bowling, Dani!  The LadyCats and Wildcats both move to 3-0 on the season.  WAY TO GO, CENTRAL!!
