What a way to finish regular season play today for Senior bowler Trent Sheppard - after struggling for two games to find the line, Trent calmly put together twelve strikes in-a-row for the first-ever perfect game in WC history!!!!  With Principal Mayfield watching, Trent started striking and by the end of the game had everyone from both Mount Juliet and WC cheering him on!!  Of the last shot, Trent said "My knees were shaking and I could hardly see the lane as I let the ball go!  Then it seemed to be rolling down the lane in slow motion.  As it hit the pins, I didn't really know if I had done it...but when all my teammates mobbed me on the approach, I knew I had it!!"  Well done, Mr. Sheppard!!

With all the adversity this young man has endured the last couple of years, this feat is truly "one to remember" for everyone at WC.  Trent, I can honestly say  I have never been more proud to be a bowling coach than today.  You are an outstanding young man, and now, one heck of a bowler, too!!  Thanks for "sticking with the program" and allowing me to help you achieve this goal!!           -Coach Mark

WOW...this LadyCats team just keeps getting better & better!  With two new school record scores today, the WC ladies steam-rolled over the Lady Bears of Mt Juliet 25 - 2!  On team games of 983-1109-979, the LadyCats posted the new high series of 3071, and that 1109 in game 2 is also a new all-time high!!  With her high game ever in competition, Brittany Turner led the way with a 246 and a 576 series, and Brittany Farmer had high series with a 588, which included a 216 game.  Kirstin Page & Danielle Chaffin both rolled super sets of 516 each, and Kirstin's set included a nice 190 game!  LadyCats finish with ANOTHER perfect regular season at 12-0, and the regular season winning streak finishes this year at 47 straight matches!!  Now it is on to the Post-Season and hopefully, more records to be broken!!
The Wildcat Boys keep improving and are getting closer to our District rivals Mt Juliet with each match against them.  Losing again by a 10-17 score, this time the 'Cats were only 51 pins down on total pins, and several of the individual matches were decided by less than a spare!  Rolling a season-high series of 3556, the boys gave it all with their heart, but the "firepower" was still a little short.  Two of the Mt Juliet players also bowled their highest series' of the season...so we will keep working and hopefully earn the right to face them again in the District 10 finals.  Trent Sheppard's 300-659 obviously led the team today, and Drew Morrow rolled a nice 224-614.  Other good scores today were:  Geremy Roseti with a 233; Seth Carey a 209; JR Clemons a 205; and Chris Branner with a 202.  Wildcats finish the regular season in 2nd place in the District, and an 11 - 3 record - our best ever for the regular season.  KEEP MOVING FORWARD, BOYS!!

Our WC bowlers came back from the Thanksgiving break refreshed and it showed at Cumberland Lanes, as the Boys won easily 25-2, and the Girls by a 21-6 margin over Ezell-Harding HS!  The LadyCats really caught fire in game 2 as they rolled a new school-record game of 1086!!  Brennan Page was outstanding today as she led the way with her first-ever 600 series, a 605!!  With games of 209-227-169, Brennan seems to have found her groove, and the rest of the LadyCats followed her in the 2nd game...Brittany Farmer had a 217, Brittany Turner a 193, and Danielle Chaffin a 185 to pace the team to the new record!!  LadyCats move to 11-0 on the season with one more to go, and winning streak is now at 46 straight regular-season matches.  AWESOME, LADYCATS!!

The Wildcats got better every game, rolling 1076-1123-1192 for a nice 3391 series in their victory.  Trent Sheppard has really turned into the Senior leader coach knew he could be, bowling a very good 202-235-211 - 648 series!  Also bowling good games today were Sr. Drew Morrow with the high game today at 237, and Fr. Chris Branner with a nice 211 in game 1.  Boys team moves to 11-2 on the season, and have now locked at least 2nd place in the District standings!  First place is still within reach, as we face our rivals from Mt. Juliet on Thursday.  Bring your friends and come watch what should be a close and fun match!!  GO, 'CATS!!

The Wildcats made it a complete "sweep" of Glencliff week at Cumberland Lanes today.  The Boys had another great day at an away center, winning 26-1.  Drew Morrow rolled the high game of the day with a super 234 in game 2, and Trent Sheppard led the way with a 584 series, which included a 208 game.  Also, Fr. Seth Carey keeps getting better every match, rolling a nice 201-577 today!  Boys move to 10-2 on the season!

Consistent was the word for the LadyCats today, as they win another match easily 22-5!  Brennan Page had high series again with a nice 508, and Brittany Farmer rolled the high game with 216.  Fr. Danielle Chaffin also had a good day, with a great 202 game and 489 series.  Our regular-season winning streak is now at 45 matches, and we move to 10-0 on the season.  Only two wins away from our third straight perfect regular season!!  WOW!!  Keep working hard, LadyCats!!
