News and Announcements

The theme for this year's High School Jamboree was to "have fun" - and our kids did just that!  The Boys Teams' idea of fun was to simply go out and make a statement as to how strong this year's team might be!  The WC Boys Team #1 rolled an awesome 3060 (5 players) to finish 2nd to a very talented Hardin County team.  But just as impressive was the WC Boys Team #2 bowling a 2769 series to finish 3rd overall, and ahead of #1 teams from Hendersonville, Mt Juliet, & McGavock!  All of our guys had some good scores...here is a quick recap of the boys scores from Saturday:

Team #1 was led by J.R. Clemons with a great 257-663 (2nd Individual Boys!); Fr. Spencer Harp had a very good 238-638; Sr. Krishna Patel rolled 223-606; Jr. Geremy Roseti a 226-580; and So. Chris Branner had a 199-573.  Team #2's leader was Jr. Scotty Probasco with a super 223-642 (3rd Individual Boys); Fr. Eric Lane with a nice 206-552; Fr. Michael Whitlow had a 215-544; So. Seth Carey had 246 game (4th Ind. Game) and a 534 series; and Jr. Ryan Peplinski bowled a 197-497.  With the Boys #1 Team averaging 204 for the day, and the #2 Team averaging 184, our boys showed great promise for things to come!!

Our LadyCats did have a little trouble at first with the dry, 2nd shift lane conditions.  But working really hard to adjust and change balls, the ladies did find some success, and finished 3rd out of 6 teams.  High Game for our girls was Dani Chaffin with a 204, and High Series was Brennan Page with a 531.   A note of "Congratulations" must be given to Hendersonville bowler Christy King for her near-perfect 299 game!  Our ladies have some work to do, but have improved a lot heading into the regular season!  GREAT BOWLING, WILDCATS!!

Congratulations to Brittany Farmer

CONGRATULATIONS to Senior BRITTANY FARMER on being named to the TENNESSEAN's ALL-MIDSTATE GIRLS BOWLING FIRST TEAM!

We are all very proud of Brittany and her achievements on the WC team!  GOOD LUCK in the future, Brittany!!

In a match our ladies would probably like to soon forget, the Hixson Lady Wildcats rolled an awesome 1157 in game 1 and cruised the rest of the way over our girls 23-4.  While pumped up and excited, and definitely loose before the match, the relaxed feeling slipped away mid-way through Game 1.  We started off very strong - several strikes in the first 3 frames.  But through frames 5 - 7, the Hixson girls caught fire while our LadyCats missed way too many easy spares.  With a final score of 1157-907, and only winning 1 point, it was obvious this day was not going to be ours.

Games 2 and 3 were "better."  With scores of 960 and 964, the girls seemed to loosen back up and bowl more like they usually do.  But we needed our best performance of the year to even come close to this team, and it was not to be today.  Congrats to Brennan Page with high game of the day at 214 - 548 series; and to Brittany Farmer, after a cold start in game 1 finished with a 550 series with a 204 score in games 2 & 3.  And, we must also give props to Alyssa Bald, who subbed in game 3 and bowled her highest game ever of 180!  All in all, not a performance we wanted, but valuable experience gained for this very talented young team!  I have NO DOUBT we will be back next year!!  Congratualtions, Lady Wildcats on another OUTSTANDING season!!

After battling a stomach ailment that had her hospitalized earlier in the week, Brittany Farmer bravely attempted to bowl anyway in the 2008 TSSAA Individual State Tournament.  She had worked so hard all year to qualify as one of the top bowlers in the State with a 190 average, but was just too weak from her illness to be in "top form" for this tournament.  Brittany rolled a 621 for 4 games, and still finished tied for 42nd place out of 67 girls.  Hats off to Ms. Farmer for valiantly trying to compete, and hopefully she can get some rest for the team event!

Geremy Roseti also had a difficult time with the lane conditions at Smyrna.  With a high game of 160, Geremy simply never got "lined up" and finished 60th out of 65 bowlers in this years' event.

To Brittany and Geremy:  Hold your heads up HIGH!!  Both of you are GREAT bowlers and even better - SUPER young people!!  I am very proud of both of you on your great year...Geremy, you will be back next year, I'm sure!  And Brittany, you have had a super 4 year run on this team, thank you for your hard work & determination to "be the best."  Our team would not have gone as far without you these past 4 years!!  THANKS!!                                  -  Coach Mark
