News and Announcements

A huge round of applause goes to the Lady Wildcats after today's win, which was the 50th consecutive regular-season victory!  This is truly an unbelievable milestone - something that our statistician Karen Baker pointed out as not having been accomplished anywhere in Wilson County HS sports!!  The LadyCats win today was very much an easy one, as they won 27-0 against the new school in our district - Cane Ridge.  Cane Ridge only had 4 girls so the outcome of the match was never in question - only how good the girls could bowl.  And they did well...rolling games of 1008 & 1038 in games 1 & 2!  High scores today were Dani Chaffin with a 204 - 386(2); Laurel Everett with her first 200 game - a 202!; and congrats to Fr. Brittany Sisco with her high game so far of a 168!  Good day, LadyCats!

The Wildcats also had an easy time with the new bowlers, duplicating the girls' win 27 - 0.  Good scores for the boys today were:  Spencer Harp with a 246; JR Clemons a 225; Chris Branner a 207; and Geremy Roseti with a 205 & 200.  Keep moving forward, guys...4 & 0 but a long way to go!!

Thursday at Lebanon was another day of wins for our teams, but the victories came in contrasting styles!  The girls cruised to another easy win, rolling over the Blue Devilettes 23-4.  But, the boys win didn't come without a fight, as they were down after 2 games, but caught fire in game 3 and zipped to the finish with a 17-10 victory!  The boys lost game 1 2-6, but only lost total pins by 20.  Game 2 was again very close, but the boys finished strong and evened the match 8-8 after 2 games - but were still down by 11 pins at that point.  The Lebanon boys seemed to tire in game 3, and led by Geremy Roseti (238) & JR Clemons (231), our 1173 in game 3 was 205 pins better than the Blue Devils, allowing our victory.  Other good scores were:  Spencer Harp with a 236-605; Devon Stewart with a 207 game; and JR Clemons with a 628 series.  This match was a great test to see how our guys would respond to being down in a match, and they more than proved they were up to the challenge!  GREAT JOB, 'CATS!!

Our LadyCats earned win #49 in-a-row (regular season) by a 303-pin margin, bowling a 2715 total to Lebanon's 2412.  A new leader rolled her new high series ever today - Ms. Kaitlin Page bowled super on games of 204-175-209 for a 588 series!  Also, Dani Chaffin had a nice 200 even in game 1.  Great win on the road, LadyCats!  Keep up the good work!!

The WC boys team came off of their one week break refreshed and ready to bowl, and it showed!  Winning 15 of the first 16 points in two games, the 'Cats rolled over Ezell-Harding by a final talley of 23 - 4.  The boys started off game 1 with several missed spares, but about the 4th frame settled down and finished very strong, rolling a nice 1238 total in sweeping all 8 points.  Just as he has done most of the pre-season, JR Clemons led the way as the only bowler to roll all 3 games, finishing with a super 256 game and a great 707 series!  The best part of his series was the fact that JR had NO open frames - a "clean" set!  Outstanding day, Mr. Clemons!!  Other great scores were:  Devon Stewart with a 225 game & 429 total (for 2 games!); Geremy Roseti - a 219 game & 408 (2 gms); Chris Branner with a 205 game; and Spencer Harp a 204.  Great start, 'Cats...2 and 0 and more to go!

Getting playing time if you are not a starter is usually a tough thing to come by once the season begins.  But that was not a problem for either team in match #1 vs. Franklin, as every bowler on both teams got to bowl in the match!  The Wildcat Boys got off to a great start in game 1, winning 6-2 with a 1253 - 1094 score.  Jr. Geremy Roseti led the way for the boys with a great game of 253, and had the high 2-game series with a 438.  No bowler bowled all 3 games today with everyone receiving playing time in this match!  Final score in the match was 21-6 WC.  Other good individual scores were:  Seth Carey with a 236-430; Ryan Peplinski with a 231 game; Fr. Spencer Harp with a nice 205 game; and So. Chris Branner with a 202.  Great start, 'Cats!!  P.S. A "congrats" to Franklin bowler Kenz Sherwood for his nice run at a 300 game - he finished with a 279 game - 720 series!

The LadyCats started off this season with "business as usual," as they cruised to a 22-5 victory over the Lady Rebels of Franklin.  Leading the way was So. Dani Chaffin with a great 225 game and 406 series (2 games).  Also, Jr. Brennan Page had a nice 194 in game 2.  This win is the 48th CONSECUTIVE Regular-Season victory for the LadyCats!!  How long they can go is anybody's guess...but my feeling is it will continue for awhile!!  AWESOME job, LadyCats!!
