(Lexington, MA)- Torrid leadoff man Juan Parra (3-4, double, 2 RBI’s), Andrew Caulfield ( 2-3, double, 3 RBI’s) and Teddy Dziuba (2-3, 2 RBI’s) led the Chiefs to a 10-5 win over the Bulldogs in Lexington on Thursday night.

It was an all southpaw effort from the Chiefs pitching staff as Josh Desai (2-0) got the win with relief help from Jonathan Chotkowski (2 innings) and veteran Jonathan Richard, who worked a scoreless seventh. Drew Crowley (1-2) took the loss.

Parra (pictured) raised his ICL best average to .553 (21-38) and leads the circuit in hits (21) and runs scored (17).

The Chiefs enter the 4th of July break with a 9-4 record. They return to action on Wednesday, July 5 when they visit the Melrose Americans at Morelli Field at 7:30 PM.

(Malden, MA}- The Chiefs scored three times in the bottom of the seventh inning, with John Baptista (pictured) delivering the game winner, to come away with a 5-4 walk-off win over the Lexington Blue Sox on Wednesday night at Maplewood.

The game was tied at 2-2 when a 27 minute rain delay stopped play in the top of the third inning. After play resumed, Jake Elbeery’s two RBI single in the top of the fifth gave the Blue Sox a 4-2 lead.

Facing a two run hole in their last at bat, the Chiefs scored three times to take the win. Tyler Ferdinand got things started when he drew a walk from Sox reliever Dawy LeBron and Nick Valdario singled to center. After two unsuccessful bunt attempts. both runners moved into scoring position on a wild pitch. Number nine hitter Cam Cinelli then singled to center, scoring Ferdinand, to cut the lead to 4-3. Juan Parra was next up and he singled to load the bases with nobody out. Miles Reid followed and tied things up at 4-4 with a single to center, scoring Valdario, and leaving the bases loaded with still nobody out. LeBron settled in and struck out Teddy Dziuba and Andrew Caulfield in succession to set the stage for Baptista who singled sharply to left to score Cinelli with the game winner.

Cameron Breault (1-0) picked up the win for the Chiefs, working a scoreless top of the seventh, in relief of starter Evan Walsh (5 innings, 8 hits, 5 K’s) and A.J. Rourke (1 inning, 1 K). LeBron (0-1) took the loss. Lexington starter Chris Winant went four solid innings with three K’s before giving way to lefty Ryan O’Rourke who allowed two hits and struck out a batter in his two scoreless innings.

Austin Masel and Julian Alvarez each had RBI’s for the Blue Sox in the first and second innings. Baptista and shortstop Nate Witkowski added RBI singles for the Chiefs in their two run first inning.

On Thursday, the 8-4 Chiefs travel to Lexington to meet the Bulldogs at 7:00 PM.

Malden, MA- The Melrose Americans scored six times in the top of the third inning to grab a 6-5 win over the Chiefs on Monday night at Maplewood.

The Chiefs took a 1-0 first inning lead before Ian Libby’s bases loaded double and RBI’s from Noah Jankowski and Owen Duncan gave the Americans a 6-1 lead.

The Chiefs quickly answered with a four spot in the home half of the third to cut the lead to 6-5 but could not get any closer over the final four innings.

Teddy Dziuba (pictured) had three of the Chiefs’ five hits in the game including a double and an RBI. The veteran catcher/DH is now hitting .526, second in the ICL only to leadoff man Juan Parra’s .533 clip.

Miles Reid, Louis Tejada, Nate Witkowski, and Diego Bravo all added an RBI each for the Chiefs.

Will Gindel (1-0) got the win for the Americans while Bobby Tramomdozzi chalked up his second save.

Southpaw Tim Dunphy (2-2) went 4.2 innings and was tagged with the loss. A.J. Rourke spelled Dunphy in the top of the fifth inning and held Melrose scoreless over the final 2.1 innings. Rourke has not allowed an earned run in the 9.1 innings he has worked so far this season.

The Chiefs drop to 7-4 with the loss. They return to action on Wednesday when they host the Lexington Blue Sox at Maplewood starting at 8:00 PM.

Max Burgoyne (grandson of Americans manager Kevin Burgoyne) and Leo Andre (grandson of Chiefs’ GM Chuck Andre) were recently overheard discussing the future of the Intercity League.

Max (in purple) and Leo (in yellow) got together after their game on Saturday where they both enjoyed a medal winning day in the Medford t-ball league.

Although rumors have been widely circulating that both Max and Leo have been heavily recruited by Lexington Blue Sox boss Rick DeAngelis, it is reported that the duo have already committed to anchor the Americans’ and Chiefs’ infields starting in the 2036 season.

Malden, MA- Veteran lefty Josh Desai (pictured left) went the first four innings to record the win when the Chiefs beat the Malden Maddogs 5-1 at Maplewood on Wednesday night.

Desai, the former Suffolk University standout, didn’t allow an earned run and gave up four hits, He received plenty of help from his bullpen as Relfin Jiminez (0.2 innings, 2 K’s, Jon Matos (1.1 innings, 3 K’s) and Cameron Breault (1 inning, 2 K’s) blanked the Maddogs over the last three innings.

Ryan Noone stayed hot at the plate with a 2-2 night that included a triple and an RBI and Juan Parra chipped in with two hits and an RBI. Andrew Caulfield added to his league best RBI total picking up his 15th of the season.

With the win the Chiefs raise their record to 7-3 on the year. They now enjoy a few days off and will return to action on Monday night when they host the Melrose Americans at Maplewood starting at 8:00 PM.
