Veteran assistant coach and catcher will return for his eleventh season in the Chiefs colors......Hit .294 in 2017 in 17 plate appearances....Missed all of 2016 as a player.....Started 30 games behind the plate in the 2015 campaign......Appeared in 11 games in 2014 and hit .222.....Started 27 games behind the plate in 2013 and hit a healthy .284 …..Was the starting catcher in Chiefs' championship season of 2012, hitting an overall .303 while delivering several late inning clutch hits…..Team player calls one of the best games in the ICL.....Spent his sophomore season of 2011 at Division 2 power Southern New Hampshire of the Northeast-10.....Hit an overall .216 for the Chiefs in 2011 while catching in 29 games…...Was the catcher on the highly successful Eastern Massachusetts Senior Babe Ruth all-star squad that appeared in the World Series after claiming the New England Championship in 2010.....Former Greater Boston League all-star, Nick excelled in both baseball and hockey during his high school career at Cambridge Rindge & Latin.....Is the younger brother of former Chiefs' shortstop and former Bridgeport University captain Nate Leva....Grew up wearing the Chiefs uniform....Nick ascending from a bullpen catcher to a starter in 2012....Will begin his second season in the player/assistant coach role....

Made a welcomed return to the Chiefs' lineup in 2017 after missing the entire 2016 season due to injury....Hit a team best and overall .386 last season with seven homers and 21 RBI's...Johnny hit .393 in 2015 with four homers and 18 RBI's...Was named the ICL MVP and Outstanding Hitter in 2014 when he led the Chiefs offensively to the 2014 ICL championship with an overall .430 average (46-107), that included leading the circuit in both home runs with nine and RBI's with 46 in just 34 games..... Spent seven seasons (2007-2013) playing professional baseball in both the Can-Am and Frontier League…Started his pro career with the North Shore Spirit of the Can-Am League in 2007…..Was with the Spirit prior to moving on to the Brockton Rox in 2008 before spending the next three seasons playing for Florence, KY of the Frontier League…...Returned to the Can-Am League in 2011 and had stints with Pittsfield, the Worcester Tornadoes, and the Rockland Boulders….Hit 75 homers as a pro and knocked in 262 runs in 461 games…...Had double digit home run seasons five times during his pro career....... Hit 15 round-trippers twice in both 2011 & 2012 and added 14 HR’s in 2010, 13 in 2009 and 10 in 2008……Hit a career best .303 for Florence in 2010 and followed that up with a .302 average in 2011 with 46 RBI's.......Knocked in 51 runs in 2009 and was among the Frontier League leaders.......Is currently 5th on the Chiefs all-time home run list with 20....One of the best power hitters to ever come out of the Greater Boston area, Johnny starred at Malden Catholic before heading north to take his talents to St. Anselm’s in New Hampshire… image

35- MIKE GEDMAN (OF-1B)

Hometown: Framingham, MA       College: UMass-Amherst     Professional: Can-Am 
Mike returned to the Chiefs last summer after missing the 2016 season and appeared in 21 games with a homer and seven RBI's......Hit an overall .306 in 2015 with two homers and 20 RBI's....Also made six mound appearances and struck out 24 batters in just 21 innings...Had a major role in the Chiefs' 2014 ICL championship hitting .275 with four homers and 15 RBI in 29 games.....Also had a 0.00 ERA for the Chiefs in three appearances on the mound......Spent three summers (2011-2013) in the professional Can-Am League playing for the Worcester Tornadoes and the Rockland Boulders before finishing up the 2013 campaign with the Newark Bears……Lefty can pitch, play the outfield and first base.…..As a professional pitcher, Mike appeared in 58 games while being used primarily out of the bullpen…..Threw 137.2 innings and made a dozen starts while posting a 5-8 record……Also appeared in 149 games as positional player and has nine career homers as a pro…..Played for the Chiefs in 2010 and hit .344 in 19 games while adding eight RBI’s….Completed his college career at UMass-Amherst in 2010 after spending his freshman year at Le Moyne…..Was a career .312 hitter in three seasons at UMass and had 13 homers and 59 RBI…..Also had 25 mound appearances for the Minutemen and posted a 5-2 record…..Head Coach at Framingham State and led the Rams to a 26-17 season in 2014, a 27-19 record along with an ECAC finals appearance in 2015, and a 21-19 mark in 2018…..Is the son of former Boston Red Sox catcher Rich Gedman……Resides in Framingham, MA…….

7- MATT NUZZO (IF)

Hometown: Everett, MA       College: Brown             Professional: Toronto Blue Jays
One of the best all around athletes to ever come out of Everett MA High, Matt was a 24th round draft pick of the Toronto Blue Jays in 2009 after enjoying a stellar career at Brown University......Hit .323 during the 2017 regular season adding an overall eight doubles and three home runs along with 23 RBI's....Can play all infield positions but spent the majority of his collegiate career as a shortstop.....While at Brown, he was selected as all-Ivy League for three consecutive seasons......Finished his four years at Brown with a .317 average in 168 games and added 20 home runs and 124 RBI's......Was the Bears team captain in 2009.....Spent three seasons in the Blue Jays organization as a second and third baseman after signing in the spring of 2009......Appeared in 141 games as a professional and had six home runs and 34 extra basehits in 458 at bats with a career average of .258......Played for three seasons in the Cape Cod League, first for the Falmouth Commodores in 2006 & 2007 and then the Hyannis Mets in 2008......Matt quarterbacked the Everett Crimson Tide to three state Division I championships.....Winningest quarterback in Massachusetts high school football history....He was a three time all-scholastic and the Boston Globe and Boston Herald 2004 Massachusetts Division I Player of the Year....Is the son of former Chief Frank Nuzzo who played for the team in the late 1960's and early 1970's before being signed by the St. Louis Cardinals in 1973....

Hometown: Everett, MA College: Eckerd Professional: Watertown Bucks
Hard throwing left-hander began his Chiefs' and Intercity League career in 2017.....Appeared in seven games last saeson with 18 K's in 22.1 innings.....Posted a regular season ERA of 2.41....Pitched professionally in the Can-Am League early last seasn with Trios-Rivieres and spent the 2016 campaign with the Watertown Bucks of the Empire Professional Baseball League in New York.....Pitched a couple of seasons at Suffolk University before heading to Eckerd College in 2014....As a sophomore at Everett High School, went 14-6 and assisted his team in winning the GBL championship…As a junior, compiled a 13-7 record and helped the Crimson Tide to its second consecutive league title...Named a Greater Boston League All-Star as a junior…..Assisted his team to a record setting 18 wins as a senior.....Played in the Futures League for the Wachusett Dirt Dogs in 2013.......Son of Al and Mary Saia of Everett, MA
