(Malden, MA)- Righty Silas Reed (pictured) fired a one-hit shutout when the Chiefs blanked the Middlesex Expos 4-0 on Monday night at Maplewood.

Reed was dominant all game long striking out ten batters.

Tyler Ferdinand led the Chiefs at the plate with a 3 for 3 night that included two RBI’s. Ruben Rodriguez Jr added two hits and Luis Tejada chipped in with an RBI single.

Reed upped his season record to 3-0 and lowered his ERA to 0.39. He now has struck out 28 batters in just 18 innings. Eduardo Soto had the lone Expos’ hit.

The Chiefs (5-2) are off on Tuesday and return to action on Wednesday when they host the Lexington Bulldogs at 8:00 PM. On Thursday the Chiefs visit the Blue Sox in Lexington, also at 8:00 PM.

(Lexington, MA) Craig Barnes went the distance, striking out 10 batters, when the Stoneham Sabers beat the Chiefs 8-5 on Saturday in the second game of the annual Jeri DeAngelis Memorial Day of Baseball held in Lexington.

Ruben Rodriguez Jr and Hector Pellot (shown left) had two RBI’s each for the Chiefs.

The now 4-2 Chiefs will host the Middlesex Expos at Maplewood on Monday at 8:00 PM.

On Wednesday the Chiefs host the Lexington Bulldogs at 8:00 PM and conclude the week with a Thursday meeting against the Blue Sox in at Lexington High.

(Waltham, MA)- Tim Dunphy (pictured) alllowed just one run and two hits over five innings to get the Chiefs by the Brighton Black Sox 6-1 on Tuesday evening at Brandeis University in Waltham.

Luis Tejada went 3-4 with a couple of RBI’s to lead the Chiefs offense.

Hector Pellot, Emmanuel Rosario and Nate Witkowski each had two hits and Nick Valdario added two RBI’s for the winners.

The now 4-1 Chiefs are off until Friday when they will travel to East Boston Stadium to meet the Knights at 8:00 PM.

(Malden, MA) -Ruben Rodriguez Jr went 4-4, including a double and triple, and had five RBI’s, to lead the Chiefs to a 12-0 win over the Brighton Braves of the Yawkey League at Maplewood on Monday night.

Righty Silas Reed (pictured) was immense in his five innings of work, striking out 13 and allowing just three hits. He raised his record to 2-0 on the young season.

Nick Valdario, Miles Reid and Nate Witkowski each had two hits for the Chiefs.

The Chiefs are back in action tonight (Tuesday) when travel to Brandeis University in Waltham to meet the Brighton Black Sox at 8;00 PM.

(Malden, MA) - 2023 Intercity League MVP Juan Parra and veteran Tim Dunphy made impressive season debuts for the Chiefs in a 12-1 win over the Yawkey League’s Al Thomas A’s on Thursday evening at Maplewood. It was the first inter-league regular season game played by the Chiefs in their 67 year history.

Parra (pictured) went 3-4 with three RBI’s to lead the 16 hit offensive effort. The defending champs broke open a 1-1 game when they scored 10 times in the bottom of the fifth inning.

Dunphy made his first start of the year and went an impressive five innings to pick up his 65th career win in a Chiefs uniform. The veteran lefty allowed six hits and struck out three.

Miles Reid, Byron Woodman, and Nick Valdario each knocked in a couple of runs for the Chiefs. Veteran shortstop Nate Witkowski added a couple of hits including a double and a RBI.

The 2-1 Chiefs resume play on Monday when they host the Brighton Braves at 8:00 PM.
