Went 6-1 in for Coach John Casey’s 34-7 NESCAC Champion Tufts University Jumbos this past spring…… 6’ 3 southpaw posted a 3.45 ERA while making 13 appearances…..Threw a complete game one-hitter when Tufts shutout Bowdoin 5-0 on April 23 in Maine….Earned two of his wins (April 18 & April 30) against nationally ranked Trinity…….Worked a total of 51.2 innings for the Jumbos allowing just 45 hits while striking out 34 batters…..Medford, MA resident will begin his junior year at Tufts this fall…….Named NESCAC Pitcher of the Week in late April…..Former standout for the Malden Catholic Lancers……

Former Cambridge Rindge and Latin all-scholastic joins Chiefs staff for the 2010 campaign.....Attended Oregon State on a baseball scholarship as a freshman before transferring closer to home where he just completed his sophomore year at UMass-Amherst......6’ 5 right-hander made five starts for the Minutemen this past spring while posting a 1-2 record….Earned a win against Hartford striking out four….Made first start of the spring against Oklahoma State…Averaged almost a K per inning….Was named the MVP of his high school team as a junior and senior ... Named the school's Athlete of the Year as a senior ... Was also a member of the basketball team…..Son of Stephen Oakley and Christine Doherty ..... image
Chiefs infielder begins his second ICL season…..Led Chiefs with four triples last summer……Also had three doubles and a homer…..Signed professionally and played winter ball in Australia earlier this year….Also signed professionally with Worcester of the Can-Am League…..Was named as the Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Year in 2009.... Selected to the Rawlings/American Baseball Coaches Association NCAA D-2 All American second team and to the NCBW of America all-America team….. Named to the ECAC D-2, NCBWA, ABCA and Daktronics all East teams…..Batted a lofty .393 as a senior in 2009 with a team-record 84 hits including 11 homers….Named  team captain three consecutive years at Assumption and set career marks in games played (187), games started (187), at bats (731), hits (267), triples (15) and sacrifice flies (11)…… image
Comes to the Chiefs from UMass-Amherst….Finished his career with the Minutemen hitting .297 with 12 homers and 46 RBI in 77 games….Natural 6’ 5 first baseman has also pitched for UMass…..Made 24 mound appearances, mostly in a relief role, and chalked up five saves while striking out 44 batters in 54.2 innings…. Went eight strong innings at Oklahoma this spring, allowing four runs on nine hits, while striking out six ...  Pitched 2.2 solid innings of relief in the season-opener against Oklahoma State. Mike played last summer in Minnesota for Brainerd Lakes of the Northwoods League hitting .313. (42-134) with a homer and 18 RBI’s in 39 games….Also made eleven starts for the Lunkers going 3-5 with an ERA of 3.02 while recording 47 K’s in 68.2 innings…..Son of Rich and Sherry Gedman ... Father, Rich, was a catcher for the Boston Red Sox from 1980 to 1990 and later the Houston Astros and St. Louis Cardinals ... Mother, Sherry, played softball and basketball at the UConn where she threw two no-hitters and still holds the second-lowest career ERA in program history (0.57) ...
