The Westford Over 30 Softball League has announced an agreement to play an All-Star game at 6:30 PM on Thursday, July 6, against their counterparts in Westford softball, the Westford Coed Softball League. The Westford Coed Softball League is an over-18 Co-ed league that shares a home field with the Over 30 League. All proceeds from the game and the accompanying Home Run hitting contest will be donated to a local charity to be determined. The Home Run contest is open to all players from both leagues and will immediately follow the game. Early plans call for 2 representatives from each team to comprise the 16 player Over-30 squad. More details will follow.

Throw Back Night

Friday night's game against the Franco-American Club saw Z's play the first game ever in Throw back jerseys. Sporting a variety of Eggplant, the ill-fated "muscle" shirt, and even the "classic" original Spinner's black and gold, the team also sported some orange. Too bad the team played like the Spinners team of old as well.

Kangaroo Court

Posted by John Bodi at Jun 9, 2006 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
After last night's debacle, we need to start keeping track of fines. My recommendation, as Head Justice of the Kangaroo Court, appointed to such a lofty position by the esteemed Beer Wench, would be that 24 fines = 1 case. Just in case we don't get to the necessary 7 K's to fill the remainder of the beer schedule. With that being said, here is what I remember from games past. I will try to keep the tally up to date within this posting. 6/6 v. Willis This game saw many, some of which you all will need to remind me of: - Eric, for wearing BLUE socks. Orange is prefered, black looks fine, white is ok if you are washing your own uni, but BLUE? - Dave Weaver, for not running and ending the game so that we can all get to the parking lot earlier. - Joe Murphy, for being the un-knowing namesake of Murphy-gate. - Dave Brody, for stat-mongering. 6/9 v. Franco - Can't decide whether to fine everyone who showed up for losing to Franco or everyone who didn't show up. - AL NUDLER- 1 CASE for the first K of the year. SWINGING. And if front of the entire collection of the Sons of Al. All of this was preceeded by the ugliest foul ball in the history of the team. Those of us on the bench couldn't tell if he hit it with his bat or his cup. - JEFF FULLER- 1 CASE for the first foul out K of the year. - Gary and Matt for wearing their current uniform on "Throw Back" Jersey night. Gary, that will teach you to miss a game (or at least the post game). **New rule to be weary of- expect to be fined from this point forward for bringing tortilla chips without salsa to the post game.**
