Sorry, I forgot to mention that practice for this week is Sunday from 3:00-5:00 at Mariners in Costa Mesa. Please read my message below too, thanks. Mark

Congratulations to our boys for a great season this year. Even though the last game didn't count we will record it as a 9-1 season with three straight wins over OCO. This game showed how well we are improving, the OCO coach had planned his defense to guard Trevor and Reed by themselves. Our plans were to pound it inside to Shaq and Sunny, we came pretty close as Shaq and Sammy had 10 points each and Sunny had four. As we continue to improve all of our players it will become very difficult to guard them all which will make it easier for our plays to work each time. The final record for our first year together was 26-5. I'm also so proud of the boys as one of my main goals was free throws and we have been working on them all year long. Well in our game yesterday we were 10 for 13 from the regulation line which is 77% and OCO was 5 for 9 or 56% from the bottom of the circle. This will hurt them in the Megalopolis tournament as they will have to shoot from the regulation line. Since our first year is over I would like to hold a team meeting after our practice this Sunday. I will end practice a few minutes earlier to go over our first year and what to expect in our second year together. Please try to have someone from each family at this meeting as we will be sharing some information that all our families will need to know. Dear Force Parents, We have been accepted to represent SEYO in the Megalopolis Tournament Gold Division with OCO. There will be eight teams, three from CBO and three from CYC with two from SEYO. The brackets will be posted soon on the SEYO web site. In order to practice for this tournament we will need the entire team to be at each practice so to make it easier we will be moving the next two weeks to Sunday at Mariners in the late afternoon time. I will confirm with Mariners on what time the gym is available and will let everyone know as soon as possible. This would be Sunday 2/25 and Sunday 3/4, we might practice during the following week as the tournament is on 3/10 and 3/11 depending on the bracket seedings. Dear Force Parents, We are going to cancel practice for this Saturday 2/17/07. VFW doesn't have Marina HS or Valencia HS due to CIF Playoffs as of today. We will use our practice on Friday 2/16/07 at Mariners from 6:30-8:30 p.m. for this weeks practice. Just a reminder that our game on Sunday 2/18/07 is at 1:00 p.m. and not 12:00 p.m. Let Jon or I know if you cannot make Friday's practice. Thanks, Mark

Another reason that we know our boys are continuing to grow each week. In a game almost 8 months ago we had a 3 point lead with 90 seconds to play. We ended up losing that game in overtime. Today with the same situation we ended up extending our lead and closed out the game under control with a 36-32 victory over OCO. This concludes the 2006-2007 SEYO Season for our team. We are the Champions of the Upper Pee Wee Blue Division with an 8-1 record. The game next weekend is basically a scrimmage as it will not count towards our final record. We have completed our first year together. As we all talked at Fountain Valley HS I wanted to get some input on how you feel my coaching style has been with the boys, I also want to get some input on my philosopy, practices and tournament selection. Our final record for this past year is 25-5 with Championships in WLA Tournament, Tigers Tournament, Bruins Tournament, VFW Tournament and SEYO Season, We took second place in FOR Tournament, Jets Tournament and Dodgers Tournament. We have practice this Friday at Mariners from 6:30-8:30 p.m. and also on Saturday but location and time unknown as of today. Please try to be at the Friday practice as we will be practicing changes for Sunday including our "13" trap, rotating defense and new offense and line-up changes.
