Holiday Vacation

Posted by Jon Morinishi at Dec 19, 2007 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )

Dear Force Parents,

In this busy time of the year we hope you are keeping up in preparation of Christmas and New Years in the upcoming week.

Just as a reminder we will not have any practices or games for this weekend 12/22 and 12/23 before Christmas. We hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas with their families and friends.

Our game last Sunday was probably closer than we wanted our boys were executing well on the offensive side of the court but seemed to lack the normal "Force" defense that has made us the team we are. It could be that our practice time has been reduced to once a week and only for 90 minutes and for last weekend to a half court. The result was a 34-28 victory against Norwalk who was one of the other undefeated teams in our division.

The following weekend before the New Years Holiday we will not have any practice on Saturday 12/29 or SEYO game on 12/30 but we will have a practice and scrimmage on Sunday 12/30 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. at Columbus Tustin Gym. We will be scrimmaging Reed's Tustin All-Net team. The team is bigger and stronger than ours but we are a better shooting, faster and defensive team than theirs. We play man defense they play only zone, we would like to full court press as they are the same as us and haven't practice much on this area. The team did finish second in the State All-Net Tournament earlier in the year and would be a great game for us to get us back in shape for Tournament season right after SEYO. Please let us know if you cannot make this game, we hope everyone can make it so we can see how we match up to non SEYO teams as this team is one of the better non SEYO and non AAU teams around.

HAVE A MERRY CHRISTMAS !!!!!

VFW Holiday Weekend Schedule

Posted by Jon Morinishi at Dec 4, 2007 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )

Dear Force Parents,

The VFW Practice schedule came out today, we are scheduled for 12:15-1:30 p.m. at Valencia HS in the small gym. Yes, we only have one hour and fifteen minutes due to the number of teams that need to have practice and still make the VFW Holiday party at OCBC starting at 6:00 p.m. "Don't forget your gift exchange for the party"

Coach Jon and Coach Scotty will be running practice this Saturday. I apologize for not being able to be at practice as our family will be attending an 80th birthday celebration in Pasadena starting at 12:00 p.m., on the good side though Kelli will now be playing in the championship game on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. in Irvine so Reed can now attend the VFW Holiday party, we will have to leave early though to pick-up Kelli and arrive at the Yonsei Christmas Party by 9:00 p.m. Let us know if you cannot be at practice this week.

Our Sunday game is at 5:00 p..m. against OCBC at Western HS, girls gym. We will be wearing our "WHITE" uniforms but bring the red one just in case. Please arrive at the gym no later than 4:30 p.m.

We will be updating this web later this week so please check back.

Mark

Results from First Week

Posted by Jon Morinishi at Dec 1, 2007 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )

Dear Force Parents,

Our first game today went very well, we were glad that SOC played both a zone and man to man defense against us. We let our point guards recognize the defense and then had them call out the offense. The final score was about 38-16, we were a little rusty for not playing a real game since October's VFW Tournament. We will be having only one practice this week on Saturday 12/8, we do not know what time or where but we will let you know as soon as we know. Unfortunately, it could be as late as Thursday though.

We have a long list of items that need to be covered so please keep your schedule open for Saturday afternoon. Please remember that the VFW Holiday Party is also on the 8th and it will be starting at 6:00 p.m.

Let me know if you have any questions,

Mark

Today's game

Posted by Jon Morinishi at Dec 1, 2007 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )

Dear Force Parents,

Just a reminder, please be at the gym no later than 4:30 p.m. so we can talk to our players. We are the visiting team so please have them wear RED but bring your WHITE jersey in their tournament bag. Be sure to wear your RED shooting shirt as well.

For those that have not been to Western High School there are two gyms at this location, we are playing in the smaller girls gym which is off of Western next to the tennis courts. Do not park in the lot off of Orange as it will be a very long walk to the girls gym.

Here are directions coming out of Rancho turn left onto Dale to Orange which is the next signal after Ball Road. Turn left onto Orange then a right on Western and turn left into the parking lot.

Our boys practiced very hard the past two days and it should show in our game. For our parents we now are in Lower Midgets Blue Division which play two 20 minute halves. There is full court press and each player must play 5 continuous minutes in the first and second halves. They will be using a womens ball 28.5 and can jump over the free throw line this season.

Thanks,

Mark
