CHILD ABUSE CHECK MUST be completed as part of your volunteer application.
For those of you volunteering as a team manager or coach (includes practice coaches), team mom/dad, umpire, grounds maintenance, board member, or any other position that would require you to be around the children daily. If you have a recent clearance from teaching or from other recent volunteer applications you can submit that completed clearance. Those of you that don't have the certification you can go to the PA Child Welfare Portal and create an account to complete the check.

This is per PA Statue .... Section 6344.2 applies to an adult applying for or holding an unpaid position as a volunteer with a “program, activity or service”, as a person responsible for the welfare of a child or having direct volunteer contact with children. “Program, activity or service” is defined in part as a sports or athletic program in which children participate and which is sponsored by a school or a public or private organization.
Candy Fundraiser - One of the fundraisers is a candy bar fundraiser (one box per family) during the season. We understand economic times are difficult and have also learned that many families simply purchase the candy bars themselves. So parents are being offered a “buyout” opportunity at sign-up time ONLY. To opt out of selling candy bars, an additional $30.00 (per family) would be required at sign-up. Again, this "buyout" opportunity is ONLY available at the time you sign up your child(ren).
We are looking for volunteers (PARENTS, GRANDPARENTS, FAMILY FRIENDS) to coach, espically T-ball, and anyone with good knoweldge of the game to help umpire major division baseball and softball. Also, each team is asked to have a Team MOM or DAD. For those interested please visit the handout page link and fill out a form and complete the background checks which are now FREE.
Background checks are now a PA State Law for ALL that work with children. This includes ALL sports, school, church, ect volunteers.
Please click the Volunteers link above to download an application and background check authorization form and visit the links page to complete a PA State Police background check and PA Child Abuse clearence.
Please bring the completed application, background check and a copy of a valid government issued photo identification (driver license or state ID) to tryouts or email all the completed forms to minersvillelittleleague@gmail.com

Tryouts for Major Division (ages 9 to 12):
Sunday, March 4 • baseball only 12:30 pm – 2:30 pm CANCELED
Saturday, March 10 • baseball - 10am to 12pm • softball - 12:30pm to 2:30pm
Sunday, March 11• baseball only - 12:30pm to 2:30pm
Location - if the weather is nice and the field is playable we will be at the Little League field otherwise we will be at the elementary center
For those that missed registration. Please mail all the completed forms with copies of proof of address, birth certificate and include check for registration fee. Completed forms (Regisration, Medical Release and Parent Code of Conduct) MUST be received by March 5th.
